A figure could be seen lying on the bed looking at the ceiling with a nonchalant gaze.
"I don't feel the portal of the Lord Mansion, did someone destroy the barrier?" William mumbled as he raised his palms toward the ceiling and closed his eyes. When he opened them, his eyes turned dark red and his palm started illuminating with a red light. After a while, the red light disappeared from his hands and his eyes turned normal again.
"Damn it, someone sure messed up things when I was in deep slumber! There are only a handful of people who have access to my mansion, no one can enter the Lord Realm unless they holds the special privilege." William took a deep sigh as he felt frustrated. He was trying to open the portal to his mansion but he felt nothing. He was not able to form any connection to his resting place.
Suddenly, his facial expressions slightly changed as he noticed something. The next moment he appeared in front of the gate of his room and opened it and sure enough, Veronica was standing in front of him. She was taken aback with surprise when she saw William enter her sight.
"Are you okay?" William asked as he looked at her.
"Can I come inside...?" She looked at William and asked in response.
"Yes, sure. After all, this place belongs to you. There's no way I can stop you from entering your own house, Lady Veronica," William said in a sarcastic way as he slightly moved to the side and welcomed her inside his room. Veronica's face turned red as she heard what William said. The way he called her 'lady', she felt amazing. It was a special feeling.
After a little while, she took a seat on his bed and looked at him hesitantly. William was still standing there calmly looking at her.
"Go ahead, do you want to say something?" He asked.
"Why don't you take a seat first?" She asked back. The moment those words escaped her mouth, she found William sitting beside her.
"Geez, I know you are a Vampire but can you please stop moving like that? It's kind of awkward seeing you moving that fast. We are inside the room, so you can behave normally. Do you know how hard it is for me to accept that I am associating with a mythical Vampire?" She exclaimed as she looked William with a furious face.
Seeing a furious expression on Veronica's face, a sweet smile appeared on William's.
"Well, that was my normal speed," He replied. Hearing that answer, she was taken aback and a bitter smile appeared on her face. He was looking too innocent when he said those words, she couldn't believe that the guy sitting beside her had recently killed a mob of people in cold blood.
"I am sorry, William, for my earlier actions. The way I behaved was very wrong. I was so mean to you despite all those things you did for me. I was just scared seeing you like that and wasn't able to control my emotions." She mumbled as she looked at him.
"I don't mind. After all, you are human and you have a strong sense of feelings. I am someone who has almost lived for an eternity. I'm used to all sorts of things, including human behavior. Do you want to know why I came to your place?" He looked at her with a calm gaze and asked.
Veronica was surprised when William said those words.
"Didn't you tell me that my food brought you here?" She raised her eyebrows and asked him.
"That was only half the truth. The real reason why I ended up here is because of your blood..." William looked at Veronica as he said those words.
Veronica's face turned dark when she heard those words.
"My blood…?" She questioned in a shaky voice.
"Don't worry, I am not going to suck your blood without your permission..." William said sarcastically and took a deep sigh.
"Your blood is different from other humans in this city. Your blood reminds me of someone who used to serve me. She was the last person I saw before entering into slumber. Her name is Layla, and she was assigned to look over me during my sleep. When I woke up, I expected to see her but alas, I found myself outside this city, surrounded by humans. Your bloodline is different, you belong to a superior human bloodline, just like Layla." William explained his reasons to her.
Veronica was taken aback when she heard William.
"Superior human bloodline, do humans also have a different kind of blood in their bodies? Everyone seems to share similar-looking blood in their bodies…" She whispered.
"Just like vampires, humans also have different kinds of blood. It may look similar in color but it contains different properties. Most of the humans share a common bloodline, some of them belong to a mixed bloodline, and a few of them belong to a superior bloodline. In some extreme cases, some humans belong to a mythical bloodline. Those people are also human but they are vastly superior and more powerful than other humans," William explained the concept of bloodlines to her. Her mind was blow away upon hearing William's words.
"I am confused. You mentioned that my blood reminds you of Layla, whom you last saw five hundred years ago. How could humans live that long?" Veronica asked with a confused gaze.
"She used to be a human too but I converted her into a Vampirette[a term for a female Vampire], so she didn't die of old age," William responded to Veronica. Hearing William's words, she was taken aback as her heart nearly skipped a beat.
"You what..." Veronica mumbled in a trembling voice. She couldn't believe what she just heard. She had never heard of such a thing as a human becoming a Vampire.
