"Well! He's so cool that fans often compare him to me, which makes me a bit sad because he's basically just the game version of me!"

'What in the world are these kids talking about?' Oak thought to himself, sweating as he watched Hilda and Ash chatting happily.
Then he turned to the two mothers who were also talking.
"My son, he's quite the charmer. During that summer camp, Red made quite a few girls swoon with his quiet cuteness!"
"Really? No wonder I feel a certain way every time I look at him..."
"Huh?"
"Oh, nothing."
"Uhmm, everyone, are you done chatting? Isn't it time for you to head out?" Oak scratched his head.
"Oh! I almost forgot! I have to go now, Ms. Delia. It was wonderful meeting you!"
"I was delighted to meet you too! If you'd like to talk over the phone sometime, I'm all ears."
"Absolutely, Hilda! Time to go!"
Hilda felt a bit sad hearing that, but she had already explored Red's room and his whole house.
"Ash, I guess I have to leave now."
"Hehh! You have to go already?"
"Yeah, my mom and I still have the rest of the Kanto region to explore."
The two families began saying their goodbyes, and Oak opened the door to see ominous, dark clouds.
"...That's strange. Why did the sky suddenly turn so bad?"

A terrifying thunderclap struck a nearby tree, shattering it into pieces.
"...Why do I feel like it's on purpose?"

Lightning kept striking the poor tree, and the same was happening elsewhere.
"THERE'S DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG!! EVERYONE STAY INSIDE!!"
Everyone was startled and decided not to leave the house.
The TV turned on, and a news broadcast began.
[This is KANTO NEWS! The Kanto region is currently experiencing a highly dangerous event! Dark clouds have covered the entire area, and lightning is striking continuously all over. Please stay indoors to avoid being struck!]
"W-What is going on?!" Everyone looked at the news in worry.

'Could this be caused by a Pokémon?!' Oak wondered.
'...If so, that would be incredible!! I want to know what Pokémon is behind this! Could it be one of the legendary Pokémon from history?! WOOHOO!!'

These are the players who stole a car from some punks.
Birdup was yawning as he lay on the lush grass.
Oceanlover was fishing; it seemed he had crafted his own fishing rod.
Bigchef was cooking, and the smell was so good that the other three started fighting over it.
Especially Bob.
"IT'S MINE, IT'S MINE!!!" Bob shouted, biting hard into a roasted Slowpoke tail, making the other two players furious.
'So noisy, can't they let me sleep?' Birdup had to open his eyes to yell at the others, but then he noticed the dark clouds.
"Oh shoot! It's gonna rain, guys! Hurry up—"
BOOM!!!!!!
A lightning bolt struck right into the lake where Oceanlover was fishing, and everyone gasped as countless Water-type Pokémon floated to the surface, all faint.
"Sweet! Free Water Pokémon!"
Of course, Oceanlover didn't feel the same way.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!
Lightning kept striking, damaging everything around them.
"Is there some kind of Boss showing up?!" Birdup shouted in fear.
Suddenly, a Pokémon fell from the sky, catching Birdup's attention.
"Sweet! Free bird Pokémon!"
He's just as clueless as Oceanlover..

"Senpai, I think... this isn't the time to be playing..." Rin tugged on Rey's sleeve.
"What are you thinking? Adventure is waiting for us! Are we just going to ignore it?!" Rey said excitedly.
A lightning bolt struck right behind Rey.
"...Rin, maybe we logged into the game at the wrong time."
Suddenly, a light began to gather beside them, gradually forming into a person.
It was Lukas!
"YOUR DAD'S FINALLY BACK!!!"
"Oh! I thought you quit playing?" Rey greeted him.
"Pfft! You think I'd quit with two Pokémon waiting for me—"
Before he could finish, a lightning bolt struck Lukas directly.
He collapsed to the ground, smoke rising from him, completely knocked out.
"...we really logged in at the wrong time," Rey said to Rin, as they both logged out at once, leaving Lukas all alone.
"What incredible power!" Proton exclaimed, sweating as he looked at Zapdos, surrounded by electric energy.
BOOM! BOOM!
Lightning struck the roof of the power plant, punching holes in it.
"Uh... I'm not feeling safe at all!" A member of Surge's team pointed at Zapdos, which was gathering energy.
Gradually, the surrounding energy began to spread, radiating everywhere.
Watching the bolts of electricity flash right by his feet, Red started to feel afraid.
BOOM!
Zapdos opened its eyes and let out a roar accompanied by thunder.
In an instant...
"AGHHHHHH!?!"
"UAHHHHH!!!"
"AAAAAAAAA!!"
Many people were electrocuted.
Lightning from the sky struck down continuously, plunging everything into utter chaos.
Numerous Team Rocket members were shocked so badly they collapsed on the spot.
Then, just as suddenly, Zapdos disappeared.
"W-Whoa, what?!" The Team Rocket captain gasped as Zapdos appeared right in front of him and then vanished again, leaving only an afterimage.
Several electric spheres appeared out of nowhere, exploding immediately.
The series of electric explosions sent many people flying, causing everyone to panic.
"W-What the heck is happening?!" Zero2hero looked at the rapidly exploding scene in front of him.
Then he saw Zapdos's red eyes staring right at him from dangerously close.
"Ah..." Zero2hero froze, his eyes trembling.
Zapdos started gathering electricity around it, lifting the ground beneath it.
"LOOK OUT!!" Billy quickly pulled Zero2hero out of the way.
Zapdos let out a roar, and the accumulated electricity shot straight up into the sky like a pillar.
The electric energy struck the dark clouds, and the sound of thunder grew louder and more intense.
Billy and Zero2hero stood stunned, watching the dark clouds brighten.
"GET OUT OF THERE NOW!!!" Brock shouted to everyone.
Just as he finished, thousands of electric arrows rained down like a storm, and every arrow that hit the ground created a thunderous explosion.
"AGHHHHHH!!!!"
Many desperate and painful screams filled the air, along with the sounds of explosions.
One Rocket member knelt, his eyes filled with hopelessness.
"Is this... the power of a god?"
Seeing the worsening situation, Brock had to give orders to everyone.
"QUICK! GET OUT OF HERE! NOW!!"
"But what about you?! Are you planning to stay?!" Misty asked, worried.
"...I'll hold Zapdos off for a while, and then I'll get out too. Don't worry!"
"...If that's the case..."
Everyone, including Misty, tried to escape. Brock stayed behind and commanded his Pokémon.
"Steelix!"
Mega Steelix charged in, kicking up a cloud of dust.
"WOW! THAT LOOKS SO COOL!!" Zero2hero immediately fell in love with Mega Steelix at first sight.
'Does Brock have a Mega Stone?!' Red thought as he watched Mega Steelix emanate a powerful aura.
In an instant, Zapdos attacked Mega Steelix.
But Mega Steelix's eyes remained calm, as if the attack was nothing more than a scratch.
Mega Steelix let out a roar, and Zapdos roared back.
The battle between Mega Steelix and Zapdos is about to... begin!
