The Light Curtain Continues: A Shocking Revelation
[Ash: Why does this person look so much like me?]
[Professor Oak: It's just you. I remember, Ash, you didn't attend this summer camp.]
After Professor Oak said this, the live broadcast room chat froze.
"Ash? Who is that?"
"Why is this person appearing in the live broadcast?"
"Could it be that this five or six-year-old kid is the strongest champion that the Light Curtain mentioned? Is this a joke?"
[Lance: Come on, don't exaggerate. I know Ash too. He's just a kid with some potential.]
[Bruno: I disagree. Ash has a rock-solid spirit, just like me!]
[Delia: What? Who installed surveillance in my house?]
[Everyone: ??]
Looking at the poster Ash held, a familiar feeling arose in Hao's heart.
"It seems like I attended that Pokémon summer camp too."
Suddenly, the screen changed.
A cute Pichu appeared in the light curtain. Its adorable appearance immediately grabbed everyone's attention. Many girls watching couldn't help but gush, saying how cute it was!
But as the footage continued, the mood shifted.
Pichu, usually seen in groups, was all alone. It didn't have a family or any companions. The other Pokémon were in pairs, but Pichu was always by itself. It started to feel the emotion called loneliness.
Luckily, the lonely Pichu met a kindhearted Kangaskhan, who took it in as her own. She carried Pichu in her pouch, giving the little one a family.
Meanwhile, the screen showed Ash still asleep, missing Professor Oak's Pokémon Summer Camp.

In Silver Town, Misty squatted down, holding Togepi, laughing. Her laughter caught the attention of people around her.
Brock walked up behind Ash and gave him a hearty pat on the shoulder.
[Brock: As expected of you, Ash!]
[Ash: Haha, I'm not that great.] Ash rubbed the back of his head, embarrassed. Pikachu, who was sitting on Ash's shoulder, had a look of disbelief.
Pikachu: "That wasn't a compliment!"
Ash's oversleeping caused him to miss the summer camp, but it continued without him.
Professor Oak led a group of children, all about Ash's age, into the wilderness to explore Pokémon.
Among the group was a dark-skinned child who caught everyone's attention.
When no one was looking, he snuck off with a small Mew poster.
Hao, watching the broadcast, was so excited that he almost jumped out of his seat. His lifelong dream had been to capture Mew, but becoming the strongest champion would be just as great!
At the Cerise Laboratory, Chloe looked at the screen, her heart filled with anxiety. She followed Goh as he chased wild Pokémon recklessly.
The two of them had already wandered out of the safe zone. Chloe tried several times to stop Goh, but his excitement only grew.
However, when Goh encountered a ferocious Nidoking, fear gripped him. Chloe, exhausted and out of breath, rushed to Goh's side, but he turned around and ran off without hesitation, leaving her behind.
Chloe was confused and found herself face-to-face with the Nidoking, which was now spitting poisonous mist. She called out for help, but Goh was nowhere to be seen.
Tears streamed down her face as she ran, desperately reaching out for the disappearing figure of Goh.
[Cynthia: Abandoning your companions when faced with danger is disgraceful.]
[Leon: If you don't have the courage to face wild Pokémon, don't venture into the forest at all.]
[Professor Oak: I deeply apologize for this. In all my years of running this summer camp, this is the only incident like this. Since then, we've tightened safety measures.]
[Goh: It's not my fault! Chloe just runs too slowly! Why am I being blamed?]
[Lance: You must be the dark-skinned kid. If you can't even stand by your friends, how can you expect Pokémon to stay with you?]
[Goh: It's not my problem!]
Goh, believing this all along, was stubborn in his defense.
---
On the screen, Chloe, exhausted and unable to keep up, tripped over a rock and fell. Despair filled her heart as Nidoking closed in, preparing to deliver a fatal blow.
Chloe could only cover her eyes in fear, awaiting the worst. But just when everyone thought they were about to witness a tragedy, a pink blur flashed across the screen.
Chloe, who had been in Nidoking's attack range, was suddenly transported to safety.
Then, the pink figure slowly became visible to everyone.

In Viridian City, Giovanni, hidden in the shadows, stared at the screen in shock, gripping his Persian tighter than usual.
"Mew!" he whispered.
The cells obtained from a Mew fossil had allowed him to create the powerful Mewtwo, though that experiment had ended in disaster. Still, Mewtwo's power was undeniable. But now, a real, living Mew had appeared.
Many watching, like Cynthia, recognized Mew immediately, as it was a mythical Pokémon known to possess the genetic material of all Pokémon.
[Goh: Mew! That's Mew! I have to catch it!]
[Ash: Is there something wrong with this guy?]
[Brock: It's bad enough to be this obsessed with something, but to chase a Pokémon like that?]
[Gary: I don't often agree with Ash, but this guy is outrageous.]
[Cynthia: As long as Mew is here, this little girl won't be in danger.]
Mew, after transporting Chloe to safety, floated back in front of Nidoking and easily took it down with a single move.
Goh, who had been running away, saw Mew's power and was starstruck.
As for Chloe, the incident with Nidoking had made her afraid of Pokémon, but Mew's kindness brought her comfort. These two conflicting emotions filled her heart.
Goh, however, had only one thought.
"I must catch this powerful Pokémon and make it mine!" he declared, his determination growing.
Without hesitation, he started walking toward Mew, which hovered calmly above the defeated Nidoking.
