Kapitel 21: EPISODE 21: New Rivals! New Destinies!
"Finally, we have arrived on route 1!" I beamed in excitement! I couldn't wait for the three of us to reach Covelry town!
"Kalem, there's nothing to be happy about... Even if we are on route 1, Covelry town is still three miles south" Glade smirked while walk towards the town.
"Umm how many kilometers are three miles?" I puzzled.
"May I answer that question Kalem?" Irys the Pokedex asked.
"Since one Mile is one point six kilometers, multiply that by three which is equal to an estimated value of four point eight." Irys explained while floating around Riolu and Zorua.
"Can't believe that a Pokedex is smarter than you Kalem!" Zhery teased.
"I learned conversion when I was in grade 5 of course I know how to convert kilometers to miles. I was just testing Irys's smartness." I excused.
"That is 98% false!" Irys debunked.
"Guess whatever comes in your brain comes out!" Zhery teased.
"Why you...!?" I badgered.
"Stop teasing each other! Were not going to reach Covalry town if you are not going to stop joking around!" Glade warned.
"Alright we'll stop..." Both of us sighed.
We stopped and rest on a short shabby tree which bore Aguav berries. Glade reached out for some Aguav berries and brought some for our journey. We also ate some of them, since Aguav berries can boost energy to both people and Pokemon.
"How's the berry Zorua?" I asked as she took her first bite on any berry!
"It's delicious! It's delicious!" Zorua jumped for joy as her energy recovered.
"Huh... About you Irys, don't you want to eat some Aguav berries... They're delicious trust me!" I suggested.
"I'm sorry trainer Kalem, but I'm not a Pokemon, I was made specifically to accompany trainers in their journey. As an artificial intelligence, I cannot eat nor drink, I have no emotions nor feelings." Irys explained.
"Oh, right I totally forgot..." I sighed.
"Hey Irys, mind scanning our Pokemon for data?" Zhery requested.
"Oh yeah! I haven't seen you scanned any Pokemon before!" Glade added.
"If that's your wish trainer Glade... trainer Zhery, I shall scan your Pokemon!" Irys agreed.
"Hey Irys, please scan my Pokemon too!" I requested.
"No problem Kalem," Irys agreed to my request.
[Riolu! The emanation Pokemon! A fighting type! It has the peculiar power of being able to see emotions such as joy or rage in the form of waves!]
[Roselia! The thorn Pokemon! A grass and a Poison-type! It uses different poison in each hand separately when it attacks. The stronger its aroma the healthier it is!]
[Eevee! The evolution Pokemon! Its genetic code is unstable so it can evolve into a variety of ways.]
[And finally... Luxio! The spark Pokemon! Strong electricity courses through the tips of its sharp claws. A light scratch, causes fainting in foes!]
"Woah, thanks Irys for the information." Glade greeted.
"No problem, it is my duty as a Pokedex to analyze and scan Pokemon!"
Boom!
The three of us heard an explosion somewhere east of the forest. We decided to go and have a look!
"Come on Scyther! Don't be such a weakling! Train harder!" A trainer scolded, while he was seating beside the tree.
Scyth... Scyth...
"What do you mean you're tired! Get back to work!" The harsh trainer commanded as he threw the apple he was eating on Scyther.
As I, Glade, and Zhery approached the site where we heard the large bang, we saw the poor Scyther being abused by its trainer.
Scyth... Scyth?
"What do you mean you want to eat! Unless you learn the move X-Scissor, you won't eat!" The trainer badged harshly.
"That trainer treats his Pokemon to harsh!" I bickered.
"Yeah! Poor Scyther! He hasn't eaten all day!" Zhery added.
"That's the real world... Do you think Marley is the only one who treats Pokemon harshly? There are thousands of trainers who pursue power rather than bond!" Glade explained.
"Hey Irys, can you please scan Scyther for me?" I pleaded.
"Sure thing Kalem!"
[Scyther! The mantis Pokemon! It tears and shreds prey with its wickedly sharp scythes. It very rarely spread its wings to fly.]
"Rrrr....! That trainer is making me angry! His Pokemon is working, but he's doing nothing!? That's unacceptable!" I raged with anger and approached the trainer.
"Here we go again!" Zhery and Glade sighed.
"Hey you! Who do you think you are to treat Scyther like a slave!" I scolded as the trainer stood up from the tree and approached me.
"What's your business here? Scyther's my Pokemon not yours! So don't act like you own it!"
"The way you treat your Pokemon is wrong!"
"Kalem's right!" Glade and Zhery approached me to help.
"Who cares about bond if you only need power! Power is important not bond!"
"That's where your wrong! Without bond how could you grow stronger?" Zhery queried with rage.
"By training! Every trainer knows that!"
"So everything for you is about training huh?" Glade concludes the trainer's attitude towards his Pokemon.
"The name's Kalem, and I challenge you to a Pokemon battle!"
"Hehe he... If that's what you want? Then I accept your challenge! The name's Krill by the way!" he introduced.
"Each trainer will only use two Pokemons! The battle ends if either trainer has no more Pokemon to fight with!" Zhery, the one who volunteered to be the referee proclaimed.
"Trainer please send out your first Pokemon!" Zhery instructed.
"Rockruff lets go!"
"Zorua choose you!"
"Battle begin!" Zhery proclaimed as Glade watched from the tree.
"Rockruff use Rock tomb!"
"Zorua dodge rock tomb then use tackle!"
*Zorua dodges the rock tomb*
"Rockruff, dodge Zorua's tackle then use Rock smash!"
*Zorua's tackle was missed!*
*Zorua was badly hurt because rock smash!*
"Your Zorua is too weak! Rockruff use rock tomb one more time!"
"Zorua dodge the rock tomb!"
"Irys, please scan rockruff!" Glade pleaded.
"I will gladly do so!"
[Rockruff! The puppy Pokemon! A rock type! It's considered to be a good Pokemon for beginners because of its friendliness. but its disposition grows rougher as it grows up!]
"Krill's strategy is good, using rock smash to lower Zorua's defense, then followed by a hard rock tomb attack!" Glade observed.
*Zorua was unable to dodge the rock tomb!*
"Zorua no!"
"Zorua is unable to battle... trainer Kalem, please choose your second Pokemon!" Zhery proclaimed and instructed.
"Riolu lets battle!"
"Heh! All your Pokemons are weak!" Krill badgered.
"Grrrr... Riolu use quick attack!"
"Rockruff dodge it!"
*Rockruff dodged Riolu's quick attack!*
"What great speed!" I said in my mind.
"Riolu use metal claw!"
"Rockruff, bite Riolu's arm!"
*Metal claw missed! Riolu was bitten by rockruff!"
"Now throw Riolu up!"
"Riolu no!"
*Riolu hit his head on the ground*
"I can still stand Kalem!" Riolu beamed.
"Alright then! That means the fight isn't is ov-"
"Yes it is! Rockruff use rock tomb!" Krill interrupted.
"Riolu, push the rock tomb with Karate chop!"
"Well... Well... That was a smart move" Krill complemented.
"But the battle is still ours! I still have two Pokemons remember?"
"Then its time to use a Z-move!" I exclaimed.
"Wait, you have a Z-ring?" Krill was in awe as our Z-ring began to glow.
"All out Pummeling!" I pronounced every single word! The Z-move was finally working at first, but then it stopped.
"What the?" I was in confusion. Our Z-move didn't work again?
"I guess you don't know how to use a Z-ring hehe!" Krill teased.
"Rockruff use Rock smash!"
Riolu saw the attack coming in front of him, he couldn't move because of fear.
"Riolu is unable to battle, the match goes to Krill and his Pokemon!" Zhery proclaimed.
I went closer to Riolu and hugged him tightly."Its ok Riolu, we'll become stronger!" I promised.
"I know we will Kalem!" Riolu beamed.
"I knew you were weak! Battle me next time when you get stronger, I'm going now!" Krill badgered and left with his Pokemon.
"That guy makes me so mad!"
"That's ok Kalem, you can have a rematch when you battle him again," Zhery suggested.
"From this day on, you and krill are rivals!" Glade exclaimed.
"I'm going to win against him soon! I know I will!" I declared.
"Come on, let's continue our journey, the faster we get to Covelry town, the closer we get to the cavern of the deep!" Glade estimated.
"Then we can find my parents and become a Pokemon master!" I declared.
"But where is the cavern of the deep?" Zhery wondered.
"I guess that's my cue!" The Pokedex Irys boasted.
"The cavern of the deep can be found near Ollivide city! The fourth city and site of your fourth gym badge!" Irys explained.
"Then let's get going! Its Covelry town, then the first city! then the second, third, and fourth!" I beamed.
"Then we can reach the cavern of the deep!" Glade proclaimed.
"It's getting dark now, so let's continue our journey tomorrow, for now, its time to eat curry!" Zhery beamed.
We had the headmaster's delicious curry for dinner! We set up tents near the stream, I couldn't forget Krill and how he treats his Pokemon, I guess this means me and Krill are rivals! Rivals with different destinies! Riolu and I will master the Z-move, while with Zorua? We'll become stronger as the journey continues!
