Kapitel 2: Trainer Exams

First Person POV:

My life has changed drastically from my life before. Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is John Griffin, Son of Peter Griffin. I'm was born into the Pokémon world in the region of Kanto. Born in one of the biggest cities there, Viridian City. I'm 15 years old and enrolled at The Viridian City Trainer School. I'm in the school with 300 other aspiring trainers. Tommorow will be a big day for me. It is the day of the Trainers Exam.

The Exam will be comprised of two segments, The Written and Battle Test. The Written will be comprised of a test of which students will have to answer questions like, what certain berries do, and how to raise a certain type of Pokémon. Other things such as type match ups will be there to.

The Battle segment will be a mock battle between two contestants. Each person will be given a Pokémon and it will be judged by 10 people, one of which is a special guest. It not held like a tournament so if you lose, you can still pass if you do well enough.

I have to be fully ready and energized so in preparation, I go to sleep as soon as I get back from school.

____________

It next morning, as I make sure I wake up on time. I get dressed, say bye to my Mom and Dad, and head to the the trainer school. As I walk in, there a tense feeling in the air. Al the trainers are serious. This was the moment all these trainers were waiting for. The fact that only 33% of these people will pass is crazy. I have make sure I'm one of them. As all the students flood into the auditorium and take our seats, A single person I knew too well walked onto the stage.

As the elderly man walked onto the stage and grabbed the mic. He then proceeded to introduce himself.

" Hello there future Pokémon trainers, My name is Oak. People like to refer to me as a Pokémon Professor. Let me tell you, when I look at you young students, I see that everyone in this room have hidden potential. I hope that everyone gives there full effort in these exams.

Everyone clap for that speech including myself. After that, We got to take our written test. I finished it in about an hour as then made my way to the waiting room where will take our Mock Battles. It took about 2 hours for everyone to finish there test.

After that, The mock battles began. It took me about 17 minutes to be called in with another examinee. We then entered a room which had a battle arena in the middle. I looked up to see a balcony where 10 chairs and a table were there. Those sited in the chairs were Professor Oak, The teachers, and the Principal.

Me and the Student both made there way to a slot machine. I pressed first and and got a poke-ball. The other student did the same. We then made our way to the arena where a referee stood. We then let out our Pokémon.

On my side , there was a Nidoqueen. On the opposing side, there was a Machoke. I saw a little piece of paper on the ball so I took it and read it contents:

Nidoqueen

Moves: Bulldoze, Poison Jab

Why did I only had two moves. I then looked at the trainer who was smiling. I then figured out what was going on.

Not all the Pokémon for mock battles are the same lvl of power, so they nerfed stronger Pokémon with having limited move sets while that Machoke I bet have more than 4 moves.

Even though I'm at a disadvantage, I should exploit my obvious strength advantage. The referees blowed his whistle and told us to start the battle.

"Nidoqueen, Use Bulldoze and keep Machoke away from you".

Nidoqueen then proceeded to stomp the ground and sent shockwaves to machoke. As it made contact with the Pokémon, the ground exploded sending machoke back.

"Machoke, retaliate with Ice Pucnh".

Machoke recovered from the attack and rushed toward Nidoqueen. Instead of calling Bulldoze, I waited making the teachers intrigued. Right for the moment the Machoke came in within range, I pulled out my secret weapon.

"Nidoqueen, Use Poison Jab"

As Machoke hit Nidoqueen at the side of her face, she responded with a Dark purple colored fist in the Pokémon's guts. The Machoke was sent back with the attack. Half of Nidoqueen's face was frozen but it did what I wanted it to do. It successfully poisoned the Machoke. Now that the Machoke was on a timer , this match is way easier.

I think the guy knows that too, because now he ordered his Machoke to use Bulk Up. He was out of range of Bulldoze so I couldn't hit him. Good thing the Poison was gradually inflicting damage on it.

"Nidoqueen, Rushed toward him and use Poison Jab".

Nidoqueen ran over to the Machoke and readied the attack.

"Machoke, use Mega Punch"

The Pokémon's fist glowed with golden light and connected with the poison jab. The attack send a shockwaves through the arena as a huge dust cloud appeared. As the cloud settled, Both Pokémon could be seen standing up. Both have taken some severe damage. Machine Poison ticked again causing to collapse face first into the ground.

The Referee Blowed his whistle and shouted,"Machoke is unable to battle, Victory goes to Student John.

The judges than stood up and clapped Congratulating both of us for the amazing battle. I then made my way out knowing that I made an impression and I was likely to get picked.
