'What a lovely nap,'
In a baby cot, a baby boy rested on his back with his eyes shut.
'Wait, I thought I turned my light off?'
As he lay there, the room light attached itself to the baby's eyelids, alerting him to open them.
When he did, a blinding light made him flicker his eyes open.
At first, he could not see his surroundings. His eyes were adjusting so all he could see was a blurry spectacle most mesmerizing.
A massive room encased his eyesight. The walls were blue, a window had its curtain over it.
But another thing made the baby squint.
'Who are you people!?'
A man and a woman looked down at him with warm smiles, as if they were looking at something adorable.
'What are these walls around my bed?' The baby, in total confusion, reached his arms forward, 'Why are my arms small? What the hell? Did I shrink somehow? And who are these people? They aren't my parents,'
His attitude changed once he noticed a blue hologram above him.
[Subject's reincarnation successful... Loading System...]
'Hold up. Wait a minute. Something ain't right,' This was his thoughts when he saw this message, or even this floating panel with words, 'A system? Am I a robot? Did I get jacked up like something out of Cyberpunk?'
'And reincarnation? The only reincarnation I know of is when you...'
As he thought this, a chill ran down the baby's spine, the two people now faced each other, as if speaking to one another.
'Die,' Just like that, a whirlpool of worries swished and splashed inside his little brain, 'Oh god, did I-No, impossible, I couldn't have- Not when I have a life! Where's my mother? My father? My friends? MY FUCKING LIFE?'
The baby sniffed.
A single tear, followed by a baby's cry, alerted the two people.
The woman instantly scooped up her child and held him in her arms rocking the baby slightly.
"Shhh..." The woman coed, looking down at the baby boy.
'This feeling.'
It was the same touch as a mother comforting her little bundle of joy.
'This woman is not my mother!' He cried harder, the parental warmth urging more tears, 'Why do I feel it? Oh god, I must've...must've,'
He opened his teary eyes, and the face of the woman brought a sense of solace to his grim realisation.
"There, there," She said, wiping away the tears from his chubby face.
After seeing the man and the woman's faces, the baby boy got hit by some reminiscence.
'The man, I don't know, but this woman,' Without thinking, he touched her right cheek with his little hand, 'she looks familiar, but I can't bloody put it where I've seen that face,'
Yes, even with the woman's dark brown hair and brown eyes and the man's black hair and dark brown eyes, the baby couldn't figure out where these people were from.
However, he received a kiss from the woman, who smiled even more than the man.
'This,' The baby began to weep, 'I don't get it, at all,'
"I'm going to bed," The man said, yawning, and walking to the frame of the room's door, "I've missed out on so much sleep,"
The woman stared at him with a disproving glare, "Emile, I thought you said we would sacrifice our time for this baby? The both of us?"
"I did," Emile replied, rubbing his eyes, "But he has grown fond of you, so I'll have to sleep for him tomorrow, Sasha,"
As he walked off, Sasha, still holding onto her child, looked at him, comforting his endless wail.
"Yes, you're right," She rocked him some more, "Isn't he, Hilbert?"
'Wait, what was that?' Hilbert thought, his crying ceasing, 'Why did it seem like I heard someone call my name?'
The woman placed him back into the cot, giving Hilbert another kiss on his forehead.
"Rest well," Sasha said, pulling the small blanket over him, "my little sunshine,"
As the woman shut the light off, Hilbert caught another message and read it.
[Welcome to the world of Pokémon]
'The world of Pokémon?' More tears began to run down his face, 'I am not home anymore. I really did die...'
Soon, he began to feel drowsy.
'I don't want to think anymore,' Hilbert went onto his side, 'I just need sleep.'
---
It was like that during his early life.
The problems of being a baby were overshadowed by Hilbert's cries of his past life that he would never see again.
To Emile and Sasha, his parents, this almost became a problem with how much he cried, but he would often stop as his eyes grew red and puffed up.
When he was not thinking about his situation, the system was there for his entertainment.
'System,'
[System activated...
Would you like to see the available software you can use?]
Looking at this in his cot, Hilbert grew curious.
'Yes,'
[System software usable to its host:
Inventory
Scan
Buff]
'From all those times, my new parents can not see the system,' Hilbert thought, looking at the message, 'I should check out these things,'
He paused.
'Oh yeah,' He sniffed, shutting his eyes, 'My...parents...'
This continuous crying came to an end when Hilbert learned again to walk and talk, which he could do fine, but even then, his acting skills had to take hold.
As the years passed, a young boy stood at the front door of the house, peering into the outside world.
"Mum, I'm gonna play outside!" He shouted, leaving.
"Alright, honey, be careful," Sasha called back, reading a magazine on pokémon.
Just then, Emile came walking into the lounge.
"I thought you were going to bore him with the hazards of the world?" He asked, dusting off his white coat.
"I did, several times, but he is the son of two pokémon trainers," She replied, smirking, "he needs to learn some things on his own as we did,"
"Yeah," Emile grinned, then frowned, "but he left his pokémon cap,"
"He did?"
---
'So this is Nuvema town, from what my parents said,' Hilbert thought, feeling the light breeze against his body, 'that must mean I'm in Unova,'
'I don't have a pokémon, though, to check the buff,' He thought, stopping to pick up a leaf, 'Now I can test this inventory without any risks,'
Hilbert thought of the ability, and a second later, the leaf vanished into the storage.
He tried hard to bring out the leaf, and without fault, the leaf appeared in his hand again.
'Very nice,' Hilbert dropped the leaf, 'now let's see if the scan can work on a pokémon,'
As he walked forward, Hilbert remembered a few other things.
'One thing's for certain,' He walked on, his feet moving, 'I am Hilbert, the male protagonist from the Black and White games,'
He turned a corner into another street.
'The father didn't leave, like in the original, so am I in an alternate world? I have not seen Bianca or Cheren, yet, but that is because I decided to stay home more,'
However, he did wonder what he was going to do.
'From a virgin loser to this,' he felt a bit of his heart explode, 'Oh yeah, I died a virgin,'
His face formed into one of disgust, 'Wait, physically I may be younger, but mentally, I am this world plus my old world's age.'
'That's weird. Maybe going back to a loser is better than becoming a creep.'
Hilbert shrugged.
However, he saw something in the distance.
There, on the pathway, was a group of kids starting on to something.
It looked like a battle.
'Oh yeah, that's what I wanted to do,' He walked towards the commotion, 'My parents, for some reason, didn't have any pokémon, but now, I can test out the scan,'
