Kapitel 67: Ch 66. To get stronger

(Unedited)

With Ares being occupied by the work professor Oak had given him, the rest of his pokemon were taken to different places. Their mentors had taken them to the place most suited for them to train.

Metang was hovering a short distance away from his mentor, a Dragonite. Though most would assume a steel type pokemon would be the best mentor, the professor did not own one. His Alakazam was standing on the side, no doubt ready to switch with Dragonite to take part in Metangs training.

The rest of the pokemon were similarly given mentors.

Charizard was paired up with the professors Charizard. Lapras with a Gyarados, situated not too far away in a lake.

Clefable was meeting up with a Wigglytuff, though Metang had no clue as to where the two of them had gone off too. From what he had seen, they were already on a friendly basis, so the Wigglytuff must have gotten along with Clefable before this training.

Pikachu was a bit further away on the other side of the mountain, but Metang could feel her strong electric attacks even from this distance. He didn't know who Pikachu's mentor was, but he was surely strong.

Umbreon had gone off with, believe it or not, a Gengar. Umbreon hadn't been happy about it, but he still went. Surely there was a story about this hate, but he digressed.

Lsstly were Pidgeotto and Lucario, who had gone off back to the lab, their sparring partners waiting for them there.

"Focus."

Getting back to his own training, Metang did just that as he focussed on Dragonite, barely dodging a Fire punch that was aimed at his processing unit. Using the gravity around him, Metang began to decrease its power over himself, increasing his speed manyfold. Not that his speed was that good, but it still worked in his favor.

"Focus"

Dragonite closed in again, his speed faster than before as he once more almost hit Metang. It didn't seem to matter how fast Metang made himself, Dragonite kept up.

The attacks continued, as Metang began to follow their trajectory, dodging the attacks better and better. The spar began to heat up, as the temperature of the Fire punch increased.

When Metang was getting exhausted, Alakazam finally switched in.

"Now calm yourself down. Feel the psychic energy inside yourself. Circulate it through you to relief yourself of your exhaustion."

This part was harder to do, but Metang managed to succeed after a little time. It wasn't much, but he felt a bit refreshed. That was when Dragonite took over once more. This would continue on and on, until Metang would reach the standard Dragonite and Alakazam wanted. Then they would proceed to the next step, increasing his defense.

While Metang was undergoing his own training, Pikachu was staring in front of her, her face a bit pale as she stood in front of one of the most powerful electric-type pokemon in the world. Flapping its sparking wings in irritation, Zapdos's bright yellow feathers unleashed a powerful electric attack on Pikachu.

Pikachu countered with one of her own, the attacks meeting in the middle.

Yet her display of power was pathetic, as it was easily broken.

Receiving the strong attack with difficulty, Pikachu glanced at Zapdos. Zapdos hadn't said anything yet, not about what they were going to train or why he was attacking her in the first place. It didn't matter though.

Zapdos would continue his attacks as soon as she would get to her feet. The only fortunate thing would be, is that he only used electric attacks.

Receiving a strong attack once more, Pikachu grunted in pain, yet a small flicker of an idea sprung up in her mind.

Her own electric attacks were too weak to even compare with Zapdos's attacks. What if she could power up her own electricity? It was convenient as well, when there was such a big battery in front of her, one with the best quality electricity she could hope for.

With a small smile on her face, Pikachu got up to her feet once more, ready to try out her theory.

I wonder how the rest is faring?

Lucario glanced at the far away mountains, a hint of worry creeping in. While his friends might be strong, their opponents, their mentors, were stronger. There would only be two ways they could come out of this. One, they would have become stronger, a lot stronger than before. Two, they cracked under the pressure of the training, showing them they were not ready to fight this battle after all.

He worried for a few of them, to be completely honest. There were a lot amongst his group that loved to battle, but then there were also a few who would rather relax and spend the day doing nothing. To avoid battles, not caring about getting stronger and just play.

There wasn't any problem with that, as he too like to enjoy the free time they got. Yet when they did not like to battle, they wouldn't be able to truly help their trainer. They would become a liability, something Lucario didn't want to think about. He trusted his friends.

Getting his mind back to the training happening in front of him, Lucario scoffed at Pidgeot. The master flier was testing his mettle against the Pidgeot of the professor, as the two of them raced and battled in the sky. While Pidgeot was clearly stronger and faster, the Pidgeot of the professor was cunning and clearly strategically build.

The latter would resort to carefully placed traps and attacks to get above Ares's Pidgeot. A thing the latter would have to learn from. Not all battles were won with strenght. A lot of them were won by wit and crafty thinking.

Casting his gaze at his own opponent, Lucario readied his stance.

His own trainer was none other than a giant Machamp. The bulky pokemon held up his four hands as they were sparring like they were in a boxing ring. They would block, parry, counter and attack the other, their speed changing at odd moments, as did the feints and angles of the attacks.

On the side, a Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee were giving tips on how he should improve his footwork, where to pay attention to. It was a nice feeling, getting pointers on where to improve.

Grunting in enjoyment, Lucario increased the pace as he pushed himself to be a better version of himself. Something he had ingrained into himself every day he trained. He could feel it in his bones. There was a challenge waiting for them, one that would be a nightmare to go up against. He needed to be ready to give it his all.
