Kapitel 57: Chapter 57

"How much do you need?"

"I need about... 500,000..."

"You don't sound too confident. Are you sure that'll be enough?"

"Yeah… I'm sure..."

"Ok. By the way, is this your own Vox?"

"Yes…"

"Oh that's great. Alright, send me your bank details and I'll do a direct transfer to your account within ten minutes."

"Alright... Alana... I'm sorry for only calling you for this favor... thank you…"

"It's ok, I understand that everyone is looking for you for what you did to that bastard Charles. Do you think I can I contact you at this number in the future?"

"Yeah, you can…"

"Okay, let's talk again soon." Alana hung up after she finished speaking. She knew that Ajax was at the border, and if he suddenly asked her for money, then he must have encountered a dangerous situation.

Ajax sent his bank details and let out a sigh of relief. This was the first time he had ever asked to borrow money from someone, and it was also the first time someone was willing to lend him money, a huge amount of 500,000 eddies at that.

"Your friend's got some deep pockets, she just sent you half a million just like that, as if it was nothing." Erica heard what Ajax said the whole time and couldn't help but comment.

Ajax could only give Erica a side glance and kept his mouth shut. It took only three minutes for the money to arrive in Ajax's account, with a cute cartoon expression attached as a message. As soon as the money was in his account, Ajax immediately asked Erica to place an order for six armor-piercing missiles, six rapid-fire missiles, and twelve incendiary missiles.

He also told her to order a missile expander, a high-quality knight shield, and various ammunition, bringing the cost to a total of 890,000 eddies, 10,000 of which were collected from the surrounding operators...

Ajax did not buy energy blocks and the like since he had used the key given by Bomen to open the safe here and had found ten sets of purple energy blocks, worth around 360,000 eddies, and a box of cigars. Plus with the green and blue energy blocks that Monkey had brought from Ajax's tool room, they had more than enough for now.

Not too long ago, 900 eddies was a huge sum of money for Ajax, but now seeing nearly 900,000 eddies being spent in a moment left him numb, mostly due to the fact that these things were not worth the money he was paying. But this was the only way to secure fast resource delivery, so Ajax could only admit his loss.

The sun was already rising, turning the surroundings a beautiful shade of orange. Ajax couldn't afford to res, so he found a place to repair his and Erica's mechs. Monkey had fortunately brought all the maintenance tools when they escaped.

At the same time, Bach was ordering his subordinates to clean up the battlefield, kill all the wounded who were unable to escape, and search for any valuables. Bach contacted Leonard and reported the situation to him as he watched the flames that were gradually extinguishing.

Hearing that Ajax had escaped once again, Leonard was furious and cursed Bach out again. Words like "crippled fuck" "dumbass" "motherfucker" "useless bastard" and "failed abortion" were thrown out more than ten times, and Bach could do nothing but endure this vocal barrage.

After a while, Leonard was tired of cursing, and his anger subsided a little, so he told Bach to set up an attack group and lead them to kill Ajax immediately, he must be dead by the end of the day.

Bach wanted to take the fight to the mining area immediately, but his forces were equally damaged in the battle last night, and his surviving members urgently needed rest and medical attention.

Bach bit the bullet and asked Leonard for another batch of supplies, including a large number of missiles and mechs, to supplement the loss. Of course, Leonard cursed him out again, but ended up agreeing to deliver them to Bach, and its estimated delivery time would be tonight at the earliest.

There was nothing they could do, now that Bomen was dead, and the Lazoole Society was almost wiped out, he only needed to kill Ajax, he was so close, he couldn't give up. Bach breathed a sigh of relief after hanging up, the issue of supplies had been handled, so he began to arrange his next course of action.

First of all, they wanted this camp, so they couldn't abandon it. Although it was dilapidated, they couldn't leave it to the people of the Lazoole Society, so they had to create a garrison here.

Secondly, the scouting reports on Ajax and the others could not be stopped. They must always know Ajax's location, otherwise, he could sneak away and become an even bigger headache. Bach handed over this task to the two fighter planes of the guard. Nothing was more efficient than the scouting and constant bombardment of jets.

After refueling and rearming, the two jets were back in action, patrolling near the mining area, making passes on the patrolling personnel from time to time, and blowing up the living quarters of the miners.

If Ajax hadn't ordered his people to enter the mine in advance, many people would have died. After confirming that Ajax and others were in the mining area, Bach felt relieved and led his forces back to their headquarters for repairs. The jets withdrew as well, the pilots needing to rest after being on the offensive for so long.

***

At three o'clock in the afternoon, Ajax had managed to restore the durability of the two mechas to about 90%. The remaining 10% needed to be refined, but he didn't have the luxury of time.

The things Ajax bought from the Space Port had also arrived. A huge Rakshasa-Level transport ship had made a pass over the designated drop area and dropped several large crates with parachutes. The airspace at the border was not controlled, and anything could come and go at will, something that saved a lot of time and expedited the delivery.

Ajax stared at the missiles shining coldly inside one of the crates he had opened, his eyes lit up like a Christmas tree, and in his eyes, a desire to kill could be seen. The missile expander was an ordinary accessory that would allow a mech that could only hold six missiles to add six more. Ajax immediately installed it on his mech, the Reaper.

Once he had furnished his mech, he stuffed six armor-piercing missiles and six rapid missiles into it and replaced his energy reserves with brand-new energy blocks. He replaced his previous marksman rifle with a normal-grade burst rifle. It had light characteristics, a fire rate of three shots per second, and didn't pack as much of a punch. However, it was much more cost-effective as it utilized green energy blocks as its power source.

Ajax had originally planned to buy an elite-level rifle, but they were too expensive, so he had to settle for something he could afford.

"Run a self-test," Ajax said once he was done.

Class: Warlock

Type: Berserker

Energy value: 100%

Accessories: hydraulic joints, light armor, thrusters, missile expander, composite fiber

Weapons: Burst Rifle, Shoulder Cannon, Anti-Material Energy Cannon, Rapid Missile*6, Armor-piercing Missile*6

Chassis Capabilities: Inactive

The elite-level knight shield was for Erica. She is piloting a Rakshasa-Level Echo-type mech, which was very maneuverable and suitable for using lighter weapons, mainly melee weapons. If you were very proficient with the lightsaber, you could even dual wiled them for a maximized damage output.

But Erica had yet to reach that point, and she also liked to use a shield to improve her defense ability, something that was understandable.

Ajax installed the other twelve missiles on Erica's mech and Lily's mech.

The patrols sent out to investigate would report the situation to Ajax every hour. Finally, the information concluded was that after the Hell's League had captured the camp and left about 500 operators and 10 mechs there, and that Bach had returned with about a thousand men and the mechs of the guard to their headquarters.

They then witnessed 300 troops being sent to the newly occupied business district, probably because they were afraid of retaliation, and no further movement was observed after that.

All was going according to plan for Ajax. The Hell's League had come to attack in the middle of the night yesterday and they fought for hours on end, so they had no time to rest. They must be asleep or really tired as of now. In addition, repairing the mechs and rearming them would take them a long time, they might have to take days to fix the damage they had received.
