Plop
The drops of water echo in the cave, I turn looking at the green vines that cling to the walls claiming it as its own. It was beautiful, but I didn't have the time to appreciate it.
Bing, Bang
Bing, Bang
Objects falling on the ground, some colliding when I swipe them off the table, something warm trickles down my arm. I couldn't stop not even for a moment, I had to find it.
Pitter patter
Pitter, patter
The sound of hurried footsteps drew close, my body tenses the closer the sound gets. My eyes glancing around frantically searching for a suspicious object, cold sweat soaking my shirt, my brain overloads with images of me being caught.
"SEIZE!" the footsteps no longer hurried, reaching its destination.
A thundering voice booms, that creates fear in it's listeners filled with unknown threats, then I see it, the lever I was looking for, grasping it in my hands I pulled it towards me. My body shakes, no it was the ground I am standing on that is shaking moving my body along with it.
To my utter joy, and my chaser's grief, the ground split open, with me falling in the tear. Looking up, the only thing I saw was a deformed silhouette. Raising my arm, the liquid on it now identified as blood, I saluted my frantic heart was now beating steadily, a smirk made its way to my lip as the tear fully closed.
Another day, another success.
