Kapitel 261: Unexpectedly

Adrian fiddled with his phone while he seated on a chair in the kitchen across from Nick. He could feel the couple's eyes on him, but they said nothing as he remained silent while rotating the device in his hand like a fidget spinner.

Johan's farewell still struck him like an unwanted reality he didn't want to wake up to. Sure, he felt cheated. He could still taste the bitter pill of resentment rolling on his tongue every time he remembered the shattered hope falling to the ground he was standing at.

However, he's not the type to hold grudges for long. Even Nick, who always got on his nerves to the point they'd exchange a punch or two to each other, knew that.
