Kapitel 5: SINISTER GRIMOIRE
As Vanz was walking through the Tomb, He came across a Staircase, that was going down.
As Vanz looked closely... He noticed 4 Skeletons lying On the Stairs. As he looked closely, he noticed that there were small but sharp spikes coming out of the Stairs.
But all those spikes were starting from the fifth stair.
"A Bait Trap, These spikes must've popped out... Once all of them crossed that fifth stair.
Legs are sensitive part of the body, your mind knows that your body moves on your legs and tries to keep them save at any cost.
They must've gotten Suprised by the sudden attack and lost their balance, causing a fall and the spikes went directly through their faces, Neck and other parts, killing them before they could've even screamed." Vanz spoke as he looked at the skeletons and noticed that three of them were female and only one was male.
Vanz immediately opened his inventory and clicked on the icon that looked like a shield.
As soon as he clicked on the icon, the shield that he got from the skeleton in the last room... Appeared in his hand.
"Fuu... This should work." Vanz spoke as he placed the shield at the starting point of the staircase and stepped back.
He then started running towards the shield and jumped on it at a slightly bent angle...
*Hup*
As soon as he jumped on the wooden shield... It drifted down the stairs and over the spikes at an incredible speed.
*Thud-Thud-Thud-Thud-Thud*
As Vanz passed through the Skeletons... He kept his eyes keen and looked for something important in their dead bodies that he can sell for some money, but at last he didn't find anything.
*THUD*
After drifting for exactly one minute, Vanz finally landed on the plain ground.
He stepped off of the wooden shield and picked it up.
"Fuck... It's shredded and useless." Vanz spoke as he threw the shield away and started walking through the dark Corridor once again.
"I need light... Can't see shit here. Should've brought a candle as wel-" Before He could've completed his sentence, Vanz stepped over a brick and it went down slightly into the ground.
*Crrrrrrr*
Vanz realised this and didn't dared to take his leg off of the brick.
*Gulp*
"F-Fuck... It's a trap, But Which one ? There are still 2 of them left... I only know about the type of traps present here, I don't know their positions.
If first one was reusable trap, Second one was a Used trap, then third was also a reusable one and fourth one was used... Then there is a 90% Chance that this trap is a Reusable trap and the only reusable trap left in this tomb is... The Black Treasure Chest.
So, It shouldn't be a problem... If I take off my leg from this Brick." Vanz spoke in a low voice as he slowly started stepping back and got ready to run as soon as his leg was off of the Bricks.
*Creaaakkkkk*
As soon as he stepped off of the brick... It went back to it's original position and Vanz immediately went 10 steps back.
*step-step-step-step-step*
*Blow*
Suddenly, One of the Torch that was hanging by the wall... Started burning on it's own.
Vanz immediately noticed this and took one more step back just as a precaution.
*Blow*
Suddenly, One more torch that was adjacent to the previous one, started burning as well.
*Blow-Blow-Blow-Blow-Blow-Blow*
One by one... All the torches started burning and at the end of the Corridor, A black Treasure Chest was revealed.
Golden Chains, White Ruby necklaces and Precious gold coins were lying all around it.
As soon as Vanz saw the chest, Sweat started forming over his forehead.
"Fuck man... This chest looks really dangerous, If you present it like that." Vanz spoke with a smile.
'Black Treasure Chest... The Only living thing other than me inside this Tomb.
That is no treasure chest... It's a fucking monster, that baits you with all the Jwellery and gold coins lying around it.
As it Cannot move on it's own... It baits the target to itself, I am sure it has eaten more than enough members from the last party to survive for this long.
Although it's a monster... It can go in hibernation after eating it's prey for a very long time and as soon as I stepped over that stone... It got notified of my presence.
Now, The real question is... Will I be able to pass through it without getting Eaten Alive ?' Vanz thought as he immediately looked back and noticed the useless shield that he just threw away.
*Pick*
Vanz picked up the shield and started walking towards the chest with a very careful and serious expression over his face.
"Fuu... Just don't let me die." Vanz spoke with a serious expression as he Tapped the shield twice.
'As it has no eyes, The chest can't see me coming... But, it has ears and it can hear me coming towards it.' Vanz thought as he continued to walk towards the Treasure Chest.
*Creaaakkkkk*
Suddenly, The chest opened up and showed losts of gold coins and Other treasures to Vanz.
'Ah... It has already detected that I am only a single person and now it's trying to bait me hard.
Well, Let's get baited then...' Vanz thought as a Smile appeared on his face.
"Oh my god... So much Money, Yessss MONEY." Vanz shouted as he pretended to be very excited.
He started running towards the chest as any stupid greedy guy will do.
'It's getting ready... The gold on the top is moving.' Vanz thought as he immediately noticed that on the chest's Left side... There is the exit Corridor.
*Step-step-step-step-step*
'Eat this Motherfucker...' Vanz thought as he immediately threw the broken shield towards the chest and slided to the left corridor himself.
As soon as the Shield came in contact with the chest... A huge dark purple tongue came out from underneath the gold and Huge monstrous teeths grew all over the chest.
At the moment, The black treasure Chest looked like a huge Monster's mouth.
*Grab*
*Grub-Grub*
It chewed the Wooden shield completely and turned it into a mush of wood.
After throwing out some parts of the wooden shield... The chest went back to it's original form and the torches that were glowing brightly, turned off as well, waiting for their next prey.
Vanz noticed all this from the left Corridor as he was in a safe zone now.
"Well, That shield wasn't that useless after all..." Vanz spoke with a smile as he started walking forward.
After walking for about three minutes, Vanz finally reached the Tomb Room.
The gates of the room were already opened and as soon as he stepped into the room, Torches started burning.
*Blow-Blow-Blow-Blow-Blow-Blow*
There were Seven Coffins inside the room.
As Vanz walked forward... He noticed some rotten bones lying over the floor and the whole floor was yellowish.
"The last trap... Acid rain." Vanz spoke as he looked up and noticed opened chambers sticking to the Room's Ceiling.
"This Tomb belonged to the leader of an Evil Cult. He practiced Dark magic with his Six disciples.
But, When the Church came to know of this... Some priests tried to kill them and these dark mages went underground.
They made their own tomb and set up the traps, for those greedy humans... Who would come searching for the wealth that they have acquired over the years.
But, In reality... Wealth wasn't the thing they were afraid of being stolen." Vanz spoke as he looked inside the Coffins and noticed that there was nothing inside the Coffins... Except skeletons that were robbed off of their jwellery and clothes.
As Vanz walked upto the Biggest coffin... He noticed the name over it.
"Father Gullot N. Jackman." Vanz spoke as he looked inside the Coffin and noticed another skeleton lying inside the Coffin that had it's stuff stolen.
But, There was something odd with this skeleton... While all the other skeletons looked straight up, this one was looking to it's right.
"Hmm...?" Vanz immediately knew something wasn't right, he immediately looked at the right side of the Coffin and noticed that there was nothing on it.
"Where is it ?" Vanz spoke as he took his skeleton out of the Coffin and threw it aside.
After searching all the seven Coffins again and again... Vanz didn't find anything.
"No, No... It can't be taken, If it were to be taken... How come it was discovered later ? No, I need to search more thoroughly." Vanz spoke as he continued to search and suddenly something struck his mind.
Vanz stood up and went back to the biggest coffin... He then laid down into the Coffin and turned his neck to the right side.
After this, he slowly lifted up his body and as soon as his head came out of the coffin... His eyes fell over a lady's statue, who was reading a book.
"Gotcha..." Vanz spoke as he immediately jumped out of the coffin and went to the Lady's statue.
He grabbed the book in her hands and pulled it out.
*Pull*
As soon as Vanz pulled it out, The gate of the Chamber closed and All the torches inside the room went out.
*Thud*
"What the fuck is-" Before he could've said something else... The book in his hands started shining brightly purple.
"Woah..."
Suddenly, Text started appearing over the Book's First page.
"Al Juo In minto..." Vanz read out these words without wasting another moment and Suddenly, The book's white layer started fading off... The dust was cleared, Black chains appeared all around the book and a small Black skull symbol got engraved over the book.
