Kapitel 22: Formation
As Invincible arrived outside the mountain, he became aware of the abundant energy surrounding him. His body instinctively absorbed it, disregarding the meridians he had previously established.
Closing his eyes and turning his focus inward, he visualized the gathering point of the energy, which he referred to as his Void.
Standing there, he carefully observed the energy and traced the path it followed before entering the Void.
Once inside, the energy would undergo a forceful refinement, transforming into a purer form known as void energy.
Although the energy appeared substantial before entering the Void, it was relatively insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
The value of his old energy and his new one was the difference between Heaven and earth. If he was to turn all his energy into void energy, it would not make him an Immortal Emperor, probably a Immortal King or Lord.
The magnitude of energy required for him to regain his former realm is immense. However, it also implies that his strength would increase exponentially, potentially reaching a level hundreds of times greater than when he was in the Immortal Emperor realm.
The realm of cultivation from high to low is Immortal Supreme, Immortal Venerable, Immortal Emperor, Immortal King, Immortal Lord, Immortal, Nascent Soul, Golden Core, Core Formation, Foundation Building, Qi Refinement. Each realm is divided into low, middle and peak.
Feeling a sense of resignation at the hardship ahead, Invincible sighed and utilized the void energy to fashion a robe for himself, noticing that he had been naked.
Any immortal possessed the ability to manipulate energy and create clothing. However, only the user themselves could wear the clothing since it was made from their own energy.
The robe, like his hair, had a gray color. As he put it on, a mysterious aura enveloped him, giving off an otherworldly vibe that created a peculiar sensation, as if he didn't belong to this world.
His presence transcended the fragility of mortal psyche, the world, and even the universe. He was like a phantom, capable of vanishing with a mere thought or if one were to look away.
Invincible decided to shrink himself down to a height of 2 meters, the same stature he had when he was an Immortal Emperor.
Assuming this form, he could utilize his power at its maximum potential, as he was used to battling at this height.
Though he still had not mastered the void energy, he still had his old skills at his fingertips.
He could imagine if he remained as he was, he would not fare well. He had always fought as a 2 meter being, fighting at a 30 meter person, would just make him a large target.
Invincible soared through the skies and he couldn't help but notice that the surroundings seemed unfamiliar to him.
The stars above didn't align with any recognizable constellations, adding to the sense of unfamiliarity he felt in this place.
He was filled with awe at the sight before him, as even in his own realm, it was impossible to witness such a multitude of stars shining brightly in broad daylight.
Despite his extensive collection of maps and knowledge of various realms he had visited, this particular realm remained unfamiliar to him. It could possibly be an unknown Immortal Realm or even the Central Immortal Realm, where the current Immortal Supremes reside.
As Invincible stood in the skies, he breathed in the fresh air, relishing the sensation of nature's purity and soothing essence filling his lungs.
At his current realm he had no requirement to breathe.
Once one reaches the Nascent Soul realm, one is already shedding the concept of mortality.
In moments like these, one couldn't help but feel grateful for the gift of life, even though the concept of life and death held little significance for those who were accustomed to constant battles and conflicts.
Throughout his long life, he didn't remember how many times he had run-ins with death.
To reach his position in the time he did, he had to step on a lot of toes. Sadly, those toes belong to dead people now.
As he continued to breathe in the air, Invincible suddenly paused, sensing an overwhelming presence of fire essence in the surroundings. The sheer magnitude of it took him by surprise.
He only saw something similar to this a couple times and each time, the location would be occupied by sects and clans.
While one might argue that the abundance of volcanoes in the area could explain the presence of fire essence, Invincible, being astute, knew better than to accept such a simplistic explanation. He understood that there was something more profound and mysterious at play.
Indeed, it is widely understood that no single element can exist in isolation, as it would imply an incomplete creation. The coexistence of multiple elements is necessary for the birth and existence of anything in the world.
While one element may dominate and exert more influence, the other elements still exist, albeit with diminished impact. The balance and interplay of these elements are crucial for the harmony and functioning of the world.
Formations can be utilized to either remove or enhance the presence of an element. The power of a formation can be increased by utilizing a greater number of resources, thereby amplifying its effects.
The effectiveness of a formation cannot be easily measured by levels or predetermined metrics. It can only be truly understood through trial and error, as the outcome and power of a formation depend on various factors and the specific combination of resources used.
If Invincible were to come across a formation capable of removing an element, his ability to decipher and understand the intricacies of the formation would grant him additional strength and power in the process.
Utilizing his divine sense, the formidable power of his soul, Invincible scanned the vast expanse of the area, spanning thousands of kilometers in size, in search of any hidden secrets or anomalies.
With his heightened divine sense, he possessed the ability to perceive every detail, from the grandest to the minutest, with exceptional clarity and precision.
As Invincible continued his scan, his senses detected the presence of a girl, piquing his curiosity. Being the first person he encountered in this new realm, he believed that interacting with her could potentially provide insights into the nature of this unfamiliar world.
The girl was of a small stature and draped in somewhat familiar clothing. On her forehead, a small black horn ominously sits.
Deep in thought, Invincible decided to use his divine sense to internally scan the girl.
Doing as he thought, he couldn't help but furrow his brow in confusion. He couldn't sense the meridians or dantian that he was familiar with in immortal cultivators.
This perplexed him, as it seemed to defy the norms he had encountered before.
As long as one wants to be an immortal, whether they be a demon or human, they must possess meridians. Even then, all living creatures possess them.
However, despite the absence of meridians, Invincible could discern that the girl possessed considerable strength for her age. However, the mystery remained as to how she harnessed and utilized this power without the presence of traditional meridians.
He was not sure if this place was under the command of the Heavenly Dao or a new complete realm foreign from all he ever knew.
If the Heavenly Dao did not exist, then he was not in the Immortal Realms and not at risk of His awakening.
If the Heavenly Dao doesn't exist, that means meridians were not a requirement for this realm's system of power.
The Immortal Supreme gave his life to create the Immortal Realms, the Heavenly Dao and all in it, but how could He truly die?
At the Immortal Supreme realm, one is omnipresent and omnipotent, life and death is the same as sleeping and waking. It's not a permanent thing.
Once the Supreme wakes up, all that was born from him will converge and return.
There was only one way to escape that fate, become a new Immortal Supreme, but how easy can that be?
In the entire existence of the Immortal Realm, not even a single person became an Immortal Supreme. That's because it was impossible to become one in the place dominated by an Immortal Supreme.
However, even if they try to leave the Immortal Realm, they will still be within the influence of the Immortal Supreme and His dao.
To Invincible, the fact he cannot sense the Heavenly Dao was a joyous thing. This means, he was not limited to simply being an Immortal Venerable, given enough time, he can cross that border and look down on all beings!
Invincible, controlled his emotion and withdrew his divine sense from the girl, before spreading his divine sense out, noticing the presence of numerous creatures that began to illuminate his mind.
Most of the beings in his divine sense were animals, fire animals that have adapted to this location.
In a hidden location, he spotted a sealed being hidden away. If he had to say what it is, he would say a Golden Crow.
As Invincible's divine sense continued to sweep across the surroundings, his eyes suddenly snapped open, revealing a gaze of cold, bottomless gaze as he stared into the skies, looking at a close off domain hidden behind layers of space.
After a moment, he averted his gaze, his expression unreadable.
Sensing the presence of powerful beings observing his location, Invincible realized that they were likely at the peak of the Immortal Emperor realm.
It was only due to the change in the quality of his power that he was able to perceive them.
If those beings were in the Immortal Venerable realm, it would have been much more challenging for Invincible to detect their gaze.
The disparity in power levels would make their observation nearly imperceptible.
The disparity between the Immortal Emperor and Immortal Venerable realms was indeed a chasm, surpassing all the realms that came before. However, in the grand scheme of things, both realms were still insignificant compared to the might of the Immortal Supreme, who stood far above them like an indomitable force.
As Invincible focused his divine senses, searching for the location of the formation, his attention was unexpectedly drawn to a squirrel hiding on a Fire Tree at the base of the mountain.
In his divine sense, the seemingly ordinary squirrel revealed its true nature—a large-bodied creature with tentacles, constantly shifting and changing form.
Despite the strong urge to dissect and unravel the mysteries of the squirrel, Invincible restrained himself, recognizing that he had more pressing matters to attend to.
Utilizing his divine sense to teleport, he instantly transported himself inside the mountain, appearing next to an ancient formation that emanated a profound aura.
As Invincible surveyed his surroundings, he realized that he had descended one level below his previous location, finding himself at the very core of the mountain.
As he observed his surroundings, he couldn't help but notice that the ground beneath him emitted a vibrant red glow.
Circles of intricate runes danced and swirled around like lively snakes, adding an aura of mystique to the scene.
Within the swirling circles, Invincible's attention was drawn to a square shape that radiated a deeper crimson red color than the surrounding circles.
The arrangement of the circles on the outside and the square at the center created a visually captivating and harmonious formation.
The combination of these elements formed a beautiful and intricate pattern, suggesting a purposeful design and potential power within the formation.
Within the confines of the square, Invincible's gaze fell upon a remarkable sight—an egg, standing at a meter tall, adorned with intricate golden runes that embellished its eggshell.
As he examined the egg, he noticed that it pulsated with a rhythmic beat, akin to a heart.
It seemed to absorb the energy siphoned by the formation, gradually growing larger with each pulse.
Approaching the formation and examining the runes closely, Invincible came to a realization—he could not comprehend their meaning. In fact, he couldn't even be certain if they belonged to the same runic language used in his own realm.
Although he lacked proficiency in runes and formations, he could discern that the purpose of the circle was to conceal the egg from prying eyes, including the probing of divine senses. It became evident to him that the formation had been specifically designed to safeguard and protect the egg's presence from detection.
Invincible's realization was confirmed when he realized that the egg remained undetectable by his divine sense, even when he stood directly in front of it.
Examining the runes within the square, he deduced their purpose—to purify the fire essence and channel it to nourish the egg.
The intricate arrangement of the runes indicated a deliberate design to harness and direct the energy towards the growth and development of the egg.
As for the runes on the egg? Invincible was not too sure, but he imagined the reason there is so much fire essence is because the egg was attracting it to itself.
Still, he stood wondering what the golden runes are meant for, but he couldn't deduce it.
Since he knew the runes on the egg were something rare, Invincible could see the value of the egg.
Pondering, he wondered if he could store it into his Void; this was also a test to see if living things could be added.
Technically, the Divine Yang Tree was a living creature but that's only when one was being technical. The egg was a real living creature, just one that was not born yet.
If it was possible, his future would be bright beyond comparison.
Raising his hand, Invincible summoned void energy and surrounded the egg along with the formation with his power and tried to will it to appear in his Void.
It was at this moment that Invincible's eyes reflected fear, a fear far more intense than when he 'died' by the hands of half step-Immortal Venerable Zephyrus or when he met the members of Ainz Ooal Gown!
