Kapitel 215: Artificial Phantom Beast

After confirming that Monkey D. Dragon's Devil Fruit is indeed the Logia-class Wind-Wind Fruit, just as many had speculated, Kahn feels less concerned about Luffy's two major sources of protection.

Shanks is undeniably strong, but his power advantage only allows him to dominate those slightly weaker than himself. Against opponents at his level—or stronger—Shanks' loss of an arm has diminished his potential to reach the absolute top of this world.

As officially acknowledged in a Vivre Card from the past, Dracule Mihawk's swordsmanship surpasses that of "Red-Haired" Shanks, currently ranking him as the world's top swordsman.

Even after losing his position as a Warlord of the Sea, Mihawk's reputation and solo strength warranted a bounty of 3.59 billion berries.

In contrast, Shanks, with an entire crew of elite fighters, including a right-hand man nearly as strong as he is, holds a bounty of only 4.0489 billion berries. This small difference—less than 500 million berries—highlights how much of an impact losing an arm has had on Shanks' standing.

With Shanks' impressive Haki, if he still had both arms, he'd arguably be on par with the legendary Gol D. Roger, lacking only the ability to hear the Voice of All Things.

His mastery over all three forms of Haki, paired with his formidable swordsmanship, would make him a prime candidate for the title of Pirate King.

However, Shanks himself once said he gambled his arm—and his world-class swordsmanship talent—on the new era, expecting that a new generation would rise after eight hundred years: the Son of Prophecy, the Child of Destiny, and the Warrior of Liberation. If not for Kahn, Shanks might indeed have won this gamble. But Kahn's arrival has shifted the balance, rendering Shanks the losing party in this wager.

With only one arm, Shanks' Haki is still extraordinary, making him one of the world's strongest, but Kahn doubts that Shanks would be able to defeat him in a head-to-head fight. The claim that "Haki is supreme overall" sounds more like something that inspires young minds.

When two warriors with similar levels of Haki, swordsmanship, and physical skills clash, they're likely to be evenly matched.

However, if one of them holds an additional advantage—an ability as potent as Haki or a superior skill—the odds will inevitably tip in their favour.

Roger's life didn't prove that Haki is above all else; rather, it showed that Roger's Haki was stronger than anyone else's.

With Shanks missing an arm, he can only hope to approach his captain's strength. However, in terms of swordsmanship, he'll never match his former captain, Gol D. Roger.

In Kahn's eyes, Shanks is actually less intriguing than Kaido. Only relying on Haki and swordsmanship, Shanks stands no chance against him.

The same goes for Monkey D. Dragon, who possesses the Logia-class Wind-Wind Fruit. Like the once-powerful Golden Lion, who would be vulnerable if he clashed with Dragon at his peak, certain abilities naturally counter each other.

The Lion-Lion Fruit, a Paramecia ability, is incredibly powerful, capable of rivaling Whitebeard's Tremor-Tremor Fruit for the strongest Paramecia Devil Fruit. However, there is one major weakness: storms.

The Golden Lion didn't lose to Roger; he lost to a rare, intense storm—an unpredictable force that even the Grand Line's wild seas couldn't contain.

This environmental nemesis would completely neutralize the Golden Lion's power, just as Dragon's Wind-Wind Fruit would counter him.

Likewise, Kahn's telekinetic power directly counters Dragon's Wind-Wind Fruit. No matter how powerful Dragon's storms, unless his physical strength surpasses Kahn's, those winds would only end up serving Kahn's advantage.

Kahn, blessed with monstrous physical strength and the abilities of Mythical Zoans, has an unmatched level of power. In a fight between the two, Dragon's chances of victory wouldn't even reach 30%. This estimate is generous, only considering that, outside his Devil Fruit, Dragon is also a top-tier fighter in terms of physical prowess and stamina.

Otherwise, his chances would be even slimmer.

After reading Sabo's memories, Kahn was filled with supreme confidence. Now in his thirties, at his peak, Kahn believes that only the mysterious Imu might pose a threat.

To him, the "Strongest Man in the World," Whitebeard, the "Most Haki-Driven," Shanks, the world's most notorious criminal, Monkey D. Dragon, and even the so-called Son of Destiny, are barely worth his attention.

Back to the task at hand...

After reading Sabo's memories, Kahn withdrew his hand and pointed to the three sworn brothers—Luffy, Ace, and Sabo—along with Momonosuke and Sanji. He instructed Monet, "Take them to the underground base. I'll be using them for experiments."

"Yes, Master," Monet replied and obediently escorted the three brothers, Momonosuke, Kin'emon, and the others, to separate cells.

Kin'emon and Zoro were imprisoned in Wano's cells, while the three brothers, Momonosuke and Sanji, were taken to the underground base on Amazon Lily.

Held in a chamber with their bodies still sliced into multiple sections, each remained intact in stasis, awaiting Kahn's next orders.

That night, after a long absence, Kahn took time to address the needs of the discontented prisoners. Without taking a break, he then changed into a white coat and went down to the underground base on Amazon Lily.

Upon arriving, Kahn reassembled all of Luffy's body parts—except for his head—back to their original positions. Thanks to the powers of the Op-Op Fruit, a person's body, once cut, can be reattached perfectly as long as the correct positions are aligned. However, if an Op-Op Fruit user reattaches parts to incorrect positions, only the same user can restore it to normal. This ability is particularly terrifying, as it allows grotesque fusions, like attaching a person's head to a chair, permanently merging them.

With Luffy reassembled (minus the head), Kahn began drawing his blood while Luffy's floating eyes watched. Kahn intended to study Luffy's genetic lineage, examining his bloodline factors to see if he could artificially recreate the Zoan Human-Human Fruit, Model: Nika.
