Kapitel 20: 20

On a hidden desert island in the East Blue, countless ships were docked. This island, rarely visited by anyone, was now bustling with some of the most infamous and powerful pirates from across the East Blue.

The lowest bounty among them was 10 million berries, with the highest reaching an impressive 60 million. For the East Blue, often considered the weakest sea, such bounties were more than enough to cause chaos and threaten the region.

The reason for this unusual gathering? A pirate conference to discuss uniting against the Navy of the East Blue, aiming to overthrow its authority and claim the entire sea for the pirates. Though it seemed like a wild and impractical dream, it had attracted every pirate of note in the region.

However, unbeknownst to the pirates, more than a dozen large naval warships were lurking not far from the island, hidden from sight but ready to strike.

"Report, Colonel Smoker. We've confirmed the presence of dozens of high-profile pirates from the East Blue. Should we engage?" a navy officer asked, standing at attention before the formidable Smoker.

"Hold your position," Smoker commanded, his eyes fixed on the horizon. "This operation is about wiping out the entire pirate presence in the East Blue. We strike when they're all on the island. I want them all taken down in one sweep."

"Yes, sir!" the officer replied, turning back to relay the order.

Meanwhile, on the island, Nami was quietly watching the gathering of pirates with a sly grin on her face. She turned to Ryō, her supposed captor and the rogue shinobi from the Akatsuki. "Kakuzu-sama, there are so many pirates here today. If you kill them all, you could make a fortune in bounties."

Ryō merely grunted in response, his eyes glinting with the prospect of such an opportunity. These pirates were nothing more than walking bags of money to him, each worth their weight in gold.

Nami, however, had different thoughts running through her mind. "You idiot, keep grinning like that while you can. There's no way you can take on all these pirates. Once you're distracted, I'll slip away..." She was constantly on the lookout for any opportunity to escape. Her plan had been simple: lead Ryō to this island, let the pirates fight him, and use the chaos to disappear. But, of course, things were never that easy.

The desert island was teeming with infamous pirates from all corners of the East Blue. Not a single group was weak, and upon arriving, scuffles had already broken out between the more aggressive crews. Several smaller pirate groups had been wiped out entirely by the stronger ones, and now, the most powerful pirate crews were in the middle of a heated debate about who should lead the newly proposed Pirate Alliance.

"You lot better listen to me!" growled a massive pirate, who stood at the center of the gathering. "I'm the captain of the Tomahawk Pirates, with a bounty of 50 million berries! That makes me the strongest one here, so all of you should follow my lead!"

"Hmph, 50 million berries? So what?" another pirate spat back. "You think you're strong enough to order us around? The Agni Pirates aren't taking orders from anyone!"

"That goes for us too!" another voice rang out, this time from the Creek Pirates. "We'll never bow to a weakling like you!"

Tensions flared as every pirate crew wanted to assert dominance, and it looked like a full-scale brawl was about to erupt. None of them, however, noticed the dark figure approaching them from the shadows.

"You don't have to argue. All of you are going to die here today," Ryō said, his voice dripping with disdain as he stepped forward.

The pirates all turned to face him, taken aback by his boldness. Ryō's calm confidence sent a chill down their spines, but their initial shock quickly gave way to anger.

"Who the hell are you, talking to us like that!?" one pirate bellowed, brandishing his cutlass. "You're only two people! Do you have a death wish, walking into our camp like this!?"

"Only two of you, and you're still this arrogant? You're gonna regret it!" another pirate yelled.

"Just who do you think you are?" one of the captains sneered. "You think you can take us all on by yourself? What a joke!"

"Oh, I'm not just thinking it," Ryō replied, a sinister smile creeping across his face. "I'm here to kill you all. And once you're dead, I'll turn you into gold coins."

Without waiting for another retort, Ryō extended his arm and unleashed his attack.

"Fire Style: Great Fire Annihilation!"

A massive wall of flames erupted from Ryō's position, roaring across the battlefield like a tidal wave of destruction. The pirates had no time to react.

"What the hell is this!?"

"Flames!? Where did these flames come from!?"

"He's a Devil Fruit user! Run for your lives!"

Panic spread like wildfire as the pirates realized they were completely outmatched. Many tried to flee, but the fire consumed them before they could even make it a few feet. Screams of agony filled the air as pirates were incinerated by the unstoppable blaze.

Nami, who had been watching from the sidelines, was horrified. "This... this is a massacre..." she whispered. It was the first time she had ever seen so many pirates, and now they were all being wiped out in mere minutes. Her heart raced as she realized she was in the middle of this deadly storm. "What am I even doing here? This isn't what I signed up for..."

The flames eventually began to die down, revealing the charred remains of dozens of pirate crews. The few pirates who had managed to avoid the initial blast scattered in all directions, desperate to escape the island.

Ryō, however, showed no interest in chasing after them. "The small fry aren't worth the effort," he muttered. His real targets were the captains with the high bounties.

Meanwhile, not far from the island, Smoker and his fleet were watching the commotion unfold.

"What's going on?" Smoker demanded, noticing the sudden explosions and fires consuming the desert island.

"Colonel Smoker! It looks like the pirates are fleeing the island!" one of the officers reported, scanning the scene with binoculars.

"What!? We can't let them escape! After them!" Smoker barked, his eyes narrowing in anger. He had planned to capture every pirate on that island, but now everything was falling apart. He wasn't sure what had caused the chaos, but he was determined not to let the pirates slip through his grasp.

The hunt was on.
