Kapitel 51: Chapter 48: Loguetown (2)

(3rd Person: POV)

[Law & Bepo Group]

As the polar bear mink walked through the streets of Loguetown with his best friend he had a happy expression on his face.

While people passed the duo by on the streets young children would come to Bepo and rub his fur. Which actually made him quite happy.

As for Law he was slightly agitated at being stopped every five seconds.

But he put up with it.

Mainly since he wasn't so much of an asshole he would yell at children.

The two friends continued on, stocking up on medical supplies that Law needed. They also ended up obtaining some map-making equipment for Bepo. So he could chart anyone unknown islands the crew stumbled upon during their journey in the Grand Line.

Once all this was taken care of the two friends had a quick lunch.

They then headed to a seedier part of town.

A place where vomit, piss, and blood smeared the streets without anyone batting an eye. A place where you could get robbed in broad daylight and no one would help you. A place the marines of Loguetown avoided, despite their claims of protecting innocent people from crime and tyranny.

As to why Bepo and Law entered this part of town it was to fulfill a very important mission Roberts had assigned to the two of them before everyone left the ship to explore the town.

The mission to obtain a Log Pose.

The Thanatos Pirates had everything else they needed to begin sailing in the Grand Line except that.

Over the past year Roberts had attempted to find a Log Pose, but he always came up short. Even the numerous marines vessels that attacked him and his crew never possessed one.

But Roberts knew that with Loguetown being the stop for multiple pirates entering the Grand Line that they would definitely be able to find one here.

Which is exactly why he assigned Law and Bepo the task of retrieving one.

The two companions walked deeper and deeper into the seedier part of Loguetown.

Ignoring the strung out drug users and prostitutes offering them their bodies Law and Bepo soon found the place they were looking for.

A shop that was a front for a black market dealer.

They had been asking around about it, and now here they are.

The two of them entered the shop without any hesitation.

As soon as they did so they spotted multiple items from books to figurines stacked on shelves and display stands.

They also spotted woman with long black hair and blue eyes behind the counter. Wearing a tight-fitting black shirt that showed off more than a generous amount of cleavage.

The woman directed her gaze to Law and Bepo as soon as they entered the shop. "Welcome to my shop. The names Rika. What can I help you boys with today?"

"We're looking for something special." Law replied. Walking up to the front counter as he did so.

Meanwhile Bepo found several sculptures he liked and brought them up to the front counter.

Seeing this Law's brow twitched. But he decided to stay silent.

"Something special you say?" Rika questioned.

"Yes, we're looking for special goods, and word around is that you have the best special goods around town." Law said.

"I see." Rika replied. Looking Law directly in his eyes as she did so.

A tension began to build.

"Um excuse me. But I would like to buy these sculptures."

Until it was broken by Bepo wanting to purchase the sculptures he had brought to the front counter.

His brow twitching once more Law turned to look at Bepo. "Bepo, this isn't want we came here for!" He harshly spoke.

"Right. I'm sorry." Bepo replied. Getting a cloud of depression over his head as he did so.

"Don't get depressed just from that!" Law shouted.

"Right." Bepo replied. Having immediately recovered from his depression a moment ago.

Seeing this Rika couldn't help but chuckle.

When she did so both Bepo and Law looked at her.

"My you two are funny." Rika said. "I haven't had a good laugh like that in a while. So, what are you took looking for? Devil fruit encyclopedia, navy maps, perhaps a little something to help in the bedroom?"

"We're looking for a log pose." Law replied.

Hearing this Rika nodded.

She then stepped into the back of her shop for a moment before returning with a box in hand.

Setting it down on the counter she revealed several log poses ready and waiting, including a New World version of the log pose as well.

Seeing the New World log pose Law picked it up and then looked at Rika. "How much?"

"Since you gave me such a good laugh I'll give you a special discount. 200 million belli." Rika spoke.

"Sure." Law replied.

He then reached into his left pocket and slammed down a stack of money on the counter.

Seeing this Rika gained a shocked expression on her face, while Law simply smirked.

"That's 250 million belli. Keep the change." Law said. "Also that's to pay for the sculptures my friend wants as well."

Hearing this Bepo looked at Law with stars of gratitude in his eyes.

While Law simply pulled his hat down even more on his head and grabbed the New World Log Pose.

Bepo then grabbed the sculptures he wanted.

After this the duo left Rika's shop and then left the seedier part of Loguetown, returning to the bright streets where normal people resided.

Once they did this the two friends started making their way back to the Black Pearl.

Having accomplished their mission without any problems.
