Brontes felt a powerful surge of strength and was eager to test his new abilities in a real battle.

He thought this would be a good test before he decided to go through with the full-body cell transplant surgery.

As a marine, it wasn't hard to find a pirate to spar with. Pirates usually steered clear of the marines, especially since the Revolutionary Army was still considered a minor threat. Ever since the Golden Lion vanished, no pirate had the courage to openly defy the World Government or the Marine.

Back in his office, Brontes said to his subordinate, Kaise: "I'm planning to head out to sea for a few days. Could you find out which pirate crew has been causing the most trouble lately?"

Kaise was taken aback by the request: "Sir, you're going out to sea?" He asked, clearly surprised.

"Yes, I am " Brontes confirmed: "I've been inactive for too long. I can't just sit around the base all the time. Sakazuki and the others have been out completing missions for years. Besides, I'm getting restless staying here every day."

"Understood, sir. I'll get on it right away." Kaise replied, and he quickly left the office. He returned shortly with several files in hand.

"Sir, these files detail the major incidents involving pirates in the New World from the past month." Kaise reported, giving the files to Brontes.

"Read them to me. I can't open my eyes at the moment." Brontes said, not taking the files.

His eyes were covered as part of his training to improve his Observation Haki. While he could sense things around him to a degree, he couldn't see well enough to read.

Kaise understood that Brontes was training and nodded in acknowledgment: "Yes, sir. The Big Mom Pirates have been particularly active recently, and..."

...

Meanwhile, out at sea, the wind filled the sails of the warship, propelling it smoothly over the calm ocean.

Brontes stood on the deck, eyes closed, yet acutely aware of his surroundings. His training allowed him to sense everything within a vast range, thanks to his concealed electromagnetic field.

"Thu! Thu! Thu!"

Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps approached. A marine soldier climbed up the stairs to the deck, stood at attention behind Brontes, and saluted.

"Sir, it's an urgent message from Marineford. Admiral Sengoku is requesting that you call him."

Brontes, slightly surprised by the interruption, reached out and took the Den Den Mushi, the snail-like communication device, from the soldier.

"This is Brontes." He said into the device, curious to hear what Sengoku had to say.

"What's all this about you heading out without any notice? Don't you realize the trouble it causes when an Admiral takes action without informing Marineford?" Sengoku's voice was loud and filled with concern.

"Come on, Sengoku-san, aren't you being a little too tough with your words? When you head out into the New World, who do you report to?" Brontes replied, his tone showing a hint of annoyance.

Brontes was an Admiral, just like Sengoku. His rank wasn't lower, and the only reason he held any respect for Sengoku was due to the man's seniority and his contributions to the Marine. So why should Brontes have to report his movements to him?

Sengoku paused, taking in Brontes's point. As an Admiral, Brontes wasn't under obligation to report his every move.

"I get that, but as the commander of G-1 Base, you should still let Marineford know before you do anything, especially in the New World." Sengoku said, trying to maintain some protocol.

"I've taken care of everything, no need to worry. I'm just going to check things out. The Big Mom Pirates have been growing too fast. Before Roger was executed, they had control of a dozen islands. Now they've taken over thirty, and they're still expanding. We've been getting calls for help from many countries." Brontes explained calmly, brushing off Sengoku's earlier concern.

"Are you going after Big Mom? She's not your average pirate; she's tough to handle," Sengoku warned.

"Yes, I haven't fought her directly, but we've had our run-ins with her crew. I'll manage. The New World is getting more chaotic, and Big Mom is clearly trying to grab more territory. She's been recruiting a lot of pirates." Brontes said, outlining the situation.

"If you're sure, then go ahead and show them what we're made of. If things weren't so unstable, I'd lead a team myself to sort them out." Sengoku said angrily.

The issues Sengoku brought up were well-known at Marineford. Taking on the New World's powerhouses was no simple task. There were three major forces to consider. Whitebeard was off-limits; the old man had no interest in power, and the cost of confronting him was too high.

Kaido was ambitious and seemingly indestructible. The Marines had caught him several times but couldn't kill him. Each time he was seriously injured, he just came back stronger.

Big Mom was a force to be reckoned with as well. She was resilient, bouncing back from anything thrown her way.

Even Garp, with all his strength, couldn't subdue her. She had been a formidable force since she was young.

Brontes's decision to act wasn't just about testing his new power. Big Mom's recent actions were too aggressive, taking over many islands and threatening countries allied with the World Government, prompting them to send out distress calls.

The World Government was hesitant to get involved directly, but they were counting on the Marine to put a stop to Big Mom's aggressive expansion.

"Sir, we've just got information that the Big Mom Pirates have been seen near Totto Land. They've docked there. Perospero, Big Mom's eldest son, is leading them." Kaise reported as he approached Brontes.

"Totto Land... That's the struggling country around Whole Cake Island, isn't it?" Brontes recalled.

"Yes, that's the one. Big Mom has been forcing them to pay up, but Totto Land's been having a tough time. Their economy isn't great, and they've been hit hard by natural disasters. They can't meet the demands of the Big Mom Pirates." Kaise explained.

"Then we're setting sail for Totto Land." Brontes decided.

"Understood, sir!"

With that, the warship changed its course and headed for Totto Land.

Countries in the New World, especially those allied with the World Government, relied heavily on its protection.

The New World was teeming with pirates, and each island had its own unique forces either to protect it or to plunder its resources.

Totto Land used to be a strong kingdom, a tropical paradise with five large islands. But now, it was under the banner of the Big Mom Pirates.

It was clear that Big Mom's appetite for power was not yet satisfied. Even if she didn't dare to take over a country outright, she still forced those countries to swear allegiance to them, continuously tightening their grip.

In the age of the Great Pirate Era, Big Mom, as one of the New World's most powerful figures, had her sights set on becoming the Pirate King.

She was well aware that this was no small feat, so she was constantly gathering power, even though she knew her forces were not yet a match for the other two dominant overlords.

Big Mom was also known for her love of the finer things in life, particularly her insatiable appetite for sweets.

Totto Land, being a major producer of sweet fruits, was of great strategic importance to her and her crew.

Taking control of the country was one thing, but Big Mom wanted more than just control; she wanted the wealth that would come from having Totto Land supply her with an endless stream of sweets.

This mindset wasn't unique to the Big Mom Pirates. Many of the powerful pirate crews in the New World shared the same ideas.

They couldn't rely solely on looting to survive in such a treacherous part of the sea; they needed a steady source of income. The weaker nations of the New World were perfect targets for them to exploit.

...

The Marine warship arrived at Totto Land the following day.

The latest reports indicated that the Big Mom Pirates had the royal palace surrounded. Perospero was leading the siege, along with Charlotte Daifuku, Charlotte Cabaletta, Charlotte Opera, Charlotte Counter, Cadenza, and others—a truly impressive and formidable line up.

Brontes didn't bring a large force with him, just three warships, but his presence was a statement in itself—an Admiral was personally intervening.

As they reached Totto Land, Brontes and his Marines disembarked from the warship.

The sight of the Marine forces, especially the figure of Brontes himself, caused a stir among the civilians at the dock.

They gasped in surprise, and the members of the Big Mom Pirates who were present went from shocked to terrified.

"T-This is bad!"

"Get word to Mama, quick!"
