Kapitel 26: Gecko Islands and Syrup Islands
As they were sailing towards Gecko Islands, they encountered a few storms and whirlpools but with Franco's experience they managed to get through the storms and dodge the whirlpools. They barely survived these disasters as Alex thought that they really needed a good navigator for their ship. He was planning on raiding and destroying some slave auctions and while setting the slaves free, he might recruit his navigator there if there was someone special there.
Alex and Franco also gave physical and Haki training to Fraulein and Braga as they trained on the ship while sailing towards Gecko Islands. Fraulein and Braga were impressed at the training that Franco and Alex do, but pushed their admirations aside as they trained themselves so that they wouldn't be left behind. Surprisingly, Robin also joined the training sessions as she said that she doesn't want to be weak anymore. She trained with Alex about assassination techniques and since the nature of their Devil Fruits were practically the same, they also trained with that.

After sailing for a few days and encountering a few sea kings on the way, they finally reached Gecko Islands specifically Syrup Village. Syrup Village was a small peaceful village that has two slopes on either side of the island that provide the only ways to enter the village, due to the fact that there are high cliffs bordering the rest. Alex docked their ship to replenish their supplies. The crew would split up upon entering the village as Franco and Braga went to the Market to buy new ingredients for the ship, Fraulein went around to see if there were any weapon shops or blacksmiths as he wanted to learn blacksmithing so he could create and maintain his own weapons, while Alex and Robin went to a restaurant called Meshi to get some food and information as they could listen in to customers' conversations. They used the money that they got from getting Captain Voland's bounty. (A/N: Captain Voland was the pirate Alex killed in Chapter 17)
As they were about to go in the village a six-year-old kid stopped them and shouted "STOP INTRUDERS! YOU ARE NOW SURROUNDED BY MY USOPP PIRATES THAT ARE CONSISTED OF TWO BILLION MEN!" as three other kids came out of the bushes and stood behind their captain.
Alex couldn't help but say "But there are only four of you." Usopp was startled and said "He knew! Usopp Pirates retreat!"
Alex and his crew watched as 4 little kids ran away from them and they couldn't help it and laughed as they entered the village and split up. Alex and Robin went inside the restaurant as they asked the people inside who the leader of the village was. The villagers just said that the leader of the village lives in the mansion and the mansion was heavily guarded. The villagers also added that they didn't have to worry since the leader of the village was a kind man and would meet with them. Alex and Robin both thanked them for the food and the information as they went out of Meshi and went to the mansion.
They went inside the leader's mansion and saw a little girl, that was called by the guards Kaya, as she was reading a medical book. Alex and Robin approached her and asked with a smile "Hello Kaya, we are visitors who are looking for your father. Can you tell us where he is?"
Kaya, being the kind girl that she was, nodded happily and led them to the village leader in the mansion. When they got to room where they will meet Kaya's Father, they waited for a few minutes then a middle-aged man went inside of the room and asked them "Esteemed visitors my name is Igarashi the leader of Syrup Village. What did you want to talk to me about today?"
"We just want to know if you have an idea of where we could buy some ships as our current ship is too small for my growing crew." said Alex as he asked Igarashi where he could buy a bigger ship for his crew.
"Well, you're in luck as Merry, our butler, has designed a ship for one of the crews that passed through here about two years ago as Merry wants one of his ships to sail in the Grandline. But the bad news is the crew got captured by the Marines and confiscated their ship and is now docked in Loguetown. So maybe you would have to fight the Marines for it as they would not sell it to even more so that you are a pirate." explained Igarashi as he told them about Merry's ship that they sold to a pirate crew about two years ago.
"Well thank you Igarashi for that and I will make sure that Merry's ship would be able to sail in the Grandline." declared Alex as he went up to Kaya and patted her head as he said "Good luck in your studies little Kaya, I know you're going to be a good doctor in the future." Kaya hears this and was happy as she nodded as she said "Hai! I'll do my best!"
After going out of the mansion and said goodbye to Kaya and her family, Alex and Robin went to meet up with the crew to leave Syrup Village and continue sailing towards Loguetown and the Grandline. As they were leaving, they saw Usopp with the Usopp Pirates who were tinkering with their weapons. Alex went up to them and asked, "What are you guys doing?"
They saw him and got startled but then Usopp answered "We are upgrading our weapons so that we will become strong because we want to be brave warriors of the sea!" Alex smiled at these and patted each of their heads and said "I'm sure you all will be brave warriors of the sea in the future. So don't give up. I'll be cheering you on. Make me proud." then Alex left, and they all had stars in their eyes after he said this as they are more motivated to achieve their goal as there is someone who believes in them.

ImStar0710 My novel will still follow the canon timeline, but since my OCs would be added there are more things that would change in the One Piece World. This novel is just a product of my ideas that I got while I was reading about One Piece.
