Kapitel 8: Chapter 8- slave life 6

Saint Gabrielle clapped, his voice dripping with mock approval. "Marvelous! Truly marvelous! But let us not linger too long. It is time for the final act!"

The crowd erupted into cheers, their bloodlust palpable. Yami sat in his corner of the arena, his body battered and bruised, his breaths shallow. The five-minute break felt like mere seconds as his aching muscles screamed for rest as his minor regen was working overtime.

And after the five-minute break is over, Across the ring, the gates creaked open, and out stepped his final opponent.

Fang.

He was a mountain of a man, standing at an imposing 9'5. His muscles were chiseled like stone, his face devoid of emotion save for a slight smirk that made him seem even more dangerous. His mere presence made the air feel heavier, suffocating.

'How the hell am I supposed to beat him?' Yami thought, his heart pounding in his chest.

The bell rang.

Yami's Spidey Senses flared immediately, but before he could react, Fang was on him.

'He's fast!'

A massive fist slammed into Yami's chest, launching him like a ragdoll into the stone wall. The impact sent cracks spiderwebbing through the wall as Yami crumpled to the ground, gasping for air.

The pain was overwhelming. His ribs felt like they were on fire, and his vision blurred. He tried to push himself up, but his limbs felt like lead.

"You're pathetic," Fang said, his voice deep and cold. "I expected a challenge."

Yami's Spidey Senses screamed again, but his body couldn't keep up. Fang was already on him, grabbing him by the collar and hurling him across the arena like a sack of grain.

Yami hit the ground hard, skidding through the sand. Blood dripped from his mouth as he coughed violently.

'I can't beat him. He's too strong, too fast'.

Fang wasn't giving him time to think. He charged again, his massive frame moving with terrifying speed. Yami's senses blared in warning, but his battered body couldn't react in time.

Fang's knee slammed into Yami's stomach, driving the air out of his lungs.

"You don't belong here," Fang sneered, tossing Yami to the ground like garbage. "This fight is already over."

Yami lay on the sand, gasping for air. His vision swam as the crowd's jeers and cheers blended into a deafening roar.

'Is this it? Am I going to die again, here in this godforsaken place?'

He clenched his fists, gritting his teeth against the pain. No. He couldn't give up. He couldn't die here. Not when he'd already survived so much.

Think, Yami. Think!

He focused on Fang's movements. The man was fast, but he was relying on brute strength. If Yami could anticipate his attacks, he might have a chance.

Fang charged again, his massive fist swinging toward Yami's head.

Duck!

Yami rolled to the side just in time, the punch missing him by inches and slamming into the sand with a deafening thud. He scrambled to his feet, his Spidey Senses guiding him as he narrowly dodged another attack.

But dodging wasn't enough. Yami needed to fight back.

He raised his hand, aiming a small explosion at Fang's chest. The blast hit its mark, staggering the giant.

Fang growled, brushing off the attack like it was nothing. "That all you got?"

Yami's mind raced. His regular explosions weren't doing enough damage. He needed something stronger.

He glanced at his hand, feeling the familiar tingling sensation of his Explosion Quirk. What if he concentrated all that energy into a single point?

'It's risky… but it's my only shot'.

Fang rushed at him again, his speed relentless. Yami braced himself, channeling all his energy into his palm

Fang swung his massive fist, aiming to end the fight with one final blow.

'Now!'

Yami ducked under the punch, thrusting his palm forward. The concentrated explosion shot out like a beam, hitting Fang directly in the chest.

The force of the blast was immense, sending Fang flying backward. He slammed into the ground, the sand erupting around him.

Yami staggered, his arm throbbing from the sheer force of the attack. He could barely stand, but he refused to fall.

The arena fell silent for a moment as the dust settled. Fang lay motionless on the ground, smoke rising from his chest.

Then, the crowd erupted into a frenzy.

Saint Gabrielle stood, clapping slowly. "Magnificent! Truly a spectacle worthy of my arena!"

Yami didn't feel victorious. His body ached, his mind was numb, and his soul felt heavier than ever. But he was still alive.

For now.
