Christine's POV
I was puzzled and furious at the same time by her choice of words. "Mom." As if trying to get her attention, I called her in a calm voice. She didn't let out the slightest peep, which I expected, following a couple of moments, I proceeded, "Do you realize that by handling the business, I am doing you both a tremendous favor?" "Christine, that is sufficient!" I didn't agree with my dad's attempt to get me to drop the subject today. "I fucking don't need the family business for anything; I have my own well-established business. I can willingly hand over all the documents of dad's company to you and even transfer all of my shares to you." Mother, whenever you're needing words to undermine me with, then, at that point, utilize extraordinary mastery since you're not one." In spite of the fact that my voice was low and created, yet there was a full fury of outrage radiating from each word. My dad glared at his wife once more, "Christine, that's enough," for reasons they couldn't tell. "Fine, I will leave the family room for you both." My mother got up and walked to the stairs. "Christine, she didn't mean to threaten you, but when you said in the next six months, you gave us a heart attack. We already informed Hector that his daughter would wed in two months, and her engagement should take place in the next month. I took a gander at my father and took a full breath. How could I should let him know that I had a casual sexual encounter with somebody without playing it safe and at the present time, my thoughtlessness has paid off? Even though I'm not yet ready to have a child, I wouldn't be unhappy if I did. "Father, I will consider it." I answered, yet I know my father, to think this discussion is over I should hoodwink myself. "Christine, this has nothing to do with what you think of it; I need a positive response from you right now," I said. This is necessary for the expansion and popularity of our business. We want this union seriously if we truly have any desire to arise as the… " I won't allow him to complete that sentence of his, before I lose it completely. "Enough father, enough!" While standing to my feet and vigorously stamping the dining table, I yell. "You have no right in the entire universe to control my life; it is mine to live. I have already agreed to date Anita, but you are all pushing me to make her my life's partner. Can't you both give me a break? You don't anticipate that I should exchange my life and bliss for you, isn't that right?" With a furrowed brow, I questioned my dad. My father is, according to my knowledge, a respected but irritable individual. That came from him. "Christine! Sit!" I tried to walk out on him, but instead of obeying him, he dragged me back with his right hand and raised an eyebrow before saying, "Sit, Christine." He made sure to sound as calm as possible this time. I saw him for some time prior to sitting back in my seat. "You gave Hector your statement, and I believe you should remain by it. It won't bother you at all." Before getting up and heading toward the stairs, he spoke softly. Valerie's POV While fiddling with the compliment card in my hands, I left the VIP area. I looked everywhere for a trash can, but I didn't find one. I wanted to put it in a trash can, but I kept walking out of Elite Restaurant and reached for the desk of the receptionist. Besides, I located a waste container and I didn't think long and hard about dropping the card of the personal residence in it, leaving the free card. "Hey Valerie, are you already going?" I smiled back when the receptionist called out to me with a big smile. "Yes" Before leaving the restaurant, I responded. I walked towards the bus station, fortunately the transport came very quickly. I put my hand on my flat stomach and smiled brightly as a flood of thoughts flooded through my head right now. I'm so tired and have so many thoughts. The bus came to a stop very close to our apartment after a few minutes; all I had to do to get there was walk a few steps. Sonia was pacing with her phone around the living room window as soon as I entered her apartment. "Hello angel, what's happening?" I asked when I remained behind her. "Hi sir, I have sent the fundamental records to you." She said over the phone, ignoring me completely. "Val, I'm leaving town tomorrow," I said. After the phone call, she held my hand. "I was close to passing up this chance. I will be back in two days, so ensure you deal with yourself while I'm gone." She embraced me like I'm her younger sibling. "Sonia, you're making it sound like I can't live without you," he said. She gave me a sour look as she laughed at my joke. After supper, I helped her pack and the following day she left. I got dressed and went to the hospital to see my mom because the house suddenly felt empty. I sat alongside her bed when the entryway of her room opened uncovering the specialist who grinned extensively at me, giving me goosebumps, he never grins at me aside from when he's going to discuss my mother's clinic bills. Expecting the worst, I didn't smile back at him. "Valerie, you haven't taken care of the bill for ICU support for about fourteen days at this point, and you need to pay it before this week runs down." When I said that a smile isn't good, I was right. I hurled a full breath, checked out at my mother prior to turning around to the specialist. "How much does it cost?" Before he spoke, he gave me a long stare. "At least 100 bucks." I felt my heart beat quickly as soon as he said those words, and the sudden headache didn't help matters one bit. "Okay, I'll investigate my options regarding that." While directing my attention elsewhere, I tightly held my mother's wrist. "Mom, you need to get better soon; please get up; would you like to hold your grandchild?" My eyes welled up with tears upon hearing that statement. With blurry vision, I got up and walked out of her room, I was unable to wrap my finger on how I will conceivably get that measure of cash. I barely have twenty dollars on me right now. My entire body became suddenly weak as I walked toward the ICU exit door, and my vision was obscured by darkness.
