Luke's appearance had MJ scrambling for a solution to appease Jessie while protecting his friend. Luke didn't cope well with loneliness. When he was alone, he made terrible decisions. In a way, he felt grateful Luke had sought him out before he caused problems.

Min Jun recalled a time when Luke was seventeen or eighteen. Hong Gi had gone off on a sojourn with some gaming buddies. Something about an e-sport championship and larping. Luke stayed behind with the flu. The rest of the guys were slated for a fan event. They had left Luke resting on the couch in a fleece bunny onesie, ears drooping and nose running.
