The six BEXT members stood in a line before the dance studio mirror. Each wore a white tuxedo with tails and a silk top hat. Their lapels and bowties were rhinestoned. Each man carried an ebony cane and wore highly polished black dress shoes. Black lipstick accentuated their perfect lips. From there, each man's outfit was different.
The twins lacked shirts and wore black rosebuds in their lapels. Dae Jung's cummerbund was black. Black and white argyle socks peeked out from under the hem of his pants. Cheng Woo sported angel wings folded bend his back, leaving the black lipstick and shoes his only nod to the darker side of the ball's theme. The back of Min Ho's tux was hand-painted with an ombre feather pattern that transitioned his white jacket into the raven wings that he sported. He grinned, checking out his fangs and straightening the gold mesh chain that resembled a collar and leash.
I just love a good masquerade ball.
Years ago, I read a book about a masquerade ball where the participants turned into animals. I no longer remember the title of the book, but the visual painted by the author will remain with me the rest of my life.
What book has affected you like that?
