The morning sun rose in an unsurprisingly glum morning.

When Sylvette opened her eyes, Lord August was nowhere to be found and though she expected Lady Camille to barge in any second, there was no news from her even though she had slept with her husband. However Sylvette had little time to think about that since due to overexertion, her whole body was aching and she had fever.

She also found Lord August's behavior cold and felt dissatisfied. How could he just leave her like this after she had offered herself last night? She felt anxious about the matter.

Sylvette's frustration boiled over as she sat in bed, her feverish state exacerbating her already short temper. With a scowl, she sipped the soup, only to find it lacking in flavor, a disappointment that ignited her ire.

"What is this tasteless slop?" she demanded, her voice sharp with annoyance. "Do you expect me to eat this?"
