Kapitel 117: Hold on (2)

The touch of Zephirin's lips had my skin crawling. My body registered a difference in the way that he touched me and sealed his lips with mine. 

I hastily broke the kiss and stepped back. My eyes perused his body from head to toe. Unsure about the person standing right in front of me. For some reason I had a doubt in the pit of my stomach over his identity. The panic in my heart evident in my eyes. 

The last couple of days have been peaceful; Xerek, Aarox and Dyrk had gone awol from the palace. Ywain was ill, battling an unknown disease while Zephirin has been on his best behavior. The deal was top good to be true. To have him and be at peace was a beautiful dream, one that filled me with doubts. 

"Is something wrong?" Zephirin took notice of the change in my expression. I shook my head and gave him a fake smile to assure him that all was alright. I turned on my heels to avoid eye contact, out of fear of him reading my thoughts.
