I felt my world collapsing all over again. He had succeeded in separating us. He said he will and he had. We all thought that he was going to attack Bridget and had taken necessary precautions to block him for her safety but he had gone through another route we never even considered. He outsmarted us by triggering uncle Henry and aunt Linda's protectiveness over their child.
"But, Daddy, I can't go home now." Bridget protested, at a dispute with her dad's decision. "What about school here? I'll fail."
"Yes." I joined forces with Bridget. I had to do something, I didn't know what I could possibly do or say to change uncle Henry's fatherly mind but I had to start from somewhere, right? "Besides the psycho will be arrested soon. I promise you, she's safe here. He was just trying to provoke you and—"
"Did you just say a psycho?" Uncle Henry was dumbfounded. "What is even going on here?"
