Kapitel 250: The Tavern

Imani couldn't stop smiling as her eyes bounced from one person to another in the tavern she and Lucas were in while she took a huge bite of her meat bun. She glanced at Lucas who had been staring at the food on the table for a while now with his hand pressed to his forehead. He hadn't touched the food and it wasn't because it was bad – it was most likely amazing because Imani's face had lit up when she started eating. It was because he was worried.

Nikolay had chosen to go to the market alone after finding out that the tavern didn't have black salt and compelling the serving ladies to give Imani whatever she wants. The both of them were waiting for him to get back and Lucas couldn't stop himself from thinking about the fact that they might not get back home anytime soon.
