Imani would rather stay here because she was going to the lab to handle to the virus and the reason she had moved here in the first place was to ensure there'll be no chance of Lola and Desmond getting infected. Yes, the both of them were now in the town where the virus was spreading but Lola doesn't leave the house and Desmond only leaves to go to work. Also, the rate at which the virus was spreading had considerably reduced since they had found all the ground zeros and closed them off.

She quickly finished the food while he drank his beer and they left the house after doing the dishes.

From the driveway, Imani saw Lola peeking out of the house she was in from a curtain in the living room which was pulled back a teeny bit and she waved at her. There was no one on the street so Lola pulled back the curtain a little bit more to show her full face and waved back, a huge smile on her face, before she brought up her phone to call Imani.
