“Good heavens, Paige,” Lillian purred. Her hands lifted to smooth her hair back from her face. “Do tell me who this beautiful and vivacious man is that you’ve so thoughtfully brought into my home.”

“You remember, Lillian. I told you, right? This is Nicolae.” Paige sniffed and flashed a quick glance at Nicolae. “He is your Dustin’s new friend.”

Kitten seduction gave way to instant wrath. “Paige, of course you didn’t tell me. If you told me I wouldn’t be asking.” Lillian turned back to Nicolae and batted her eyes in such an outlandish way it made Dustin want to bash his head against the wall. As it was, he couldn’t hold back the tsk.

Lillian brushed past Dustin and lifted a flaccid hand in front of Nicolae, smiling sweetly. “Such a pleasure, sir.”
