Kapitel 38: Pirate captain Osick (II)
Silver Blade noticed Bleary Mirage's predicament. She gritted her teeth, quickly approaching Osick and ramming him with her shield.
The damage was negligible, but Osick scoffed angrily and turned around to focus on the tank. The pirate captain's attack speed was not low, swinging his saber again in a smooth motion.
Silver Blade already had to defend against one attack before, her stance almost emptied out. She braced herself, deciding to tank one hit.

Silver Blade gritted her teeth as nearly half of her HP disappeared.
The others realized the situation was tense. They quickly started another rotation of attack. More skills were mixed in this time, doing a lot of damage.
"Keep going guys! Keep going!"
"We got this!"
Osick's eye reddened, rage welling in his chest.
"Imbeciles! How dare you challenge pirate captain Osick!"
With an angry yell the pirate suddenly flashed backwards. A large chest stood next to his throne.
Osick grabbed blindly, pulling out a handful of blue crystals from the chest.
"Don't just watch, attack!"
Liam shouted loudly to animate his teammates. A few more ranged attacks hit the pirate before he swung his arm, precisely throwing the crystals at the trident.
Immediately a huge amount of mana gathered. The connection between Osick and the trident was restored. An armor of water formed around Osick's body.
"Feel my wrath!"
As a shrill scream rattled everyone's eardrums, Osick raised his saber high.
The ocean below churned, ferocious waves building up. The waterfall increased in power, determined to stop anyone trying to lay hands on the trident.
"Be careful everyone, this should be a skill!"
"Keep your eyes open, friends!"
The two tanks warned the party as a ball of dense water suddenly shot out from the ocean. It drew a graceful curve through the air, threatening to bombard the platform.
A blue ring lit up below Cyclone's and Balm's feet. Fortunately, the blond woman stayed vigilant. She grabbed Balm's arm and with quick footwork dodged to the side.
Boom!
The platform trembled as the large sphere of water crashed against the wooden floor.
"Thanks Cy!"
"Nice one!"
"You've seen it guys, watch the floor!"
With Cyclone's example everyone knew what to look out for. They lowered their heads, tensely staring at the floor.
Silver Blade narrowed her eyes as the next blue ring appeared below her. She hastily jumped to the side.
Fortunately, these kinds of indiscriminate skills didn't use up one's stance during dodging. But on the other hand, blocking them with a shield was impossible as well.
"Scurry! Like the rats you are!"
Osick mocked gloatingly as he waved his saber, commanding the water to bombard faster and faster.
"Don't slack now!"
Blue rings lit up on the platform. Spheres of water shot out of the ocean. The party dodged left and right, narrowly avoiding the damage.
Suddenly Radiant Shield shouted anxiously:
"Watch out!"
The burly man watched as Sun's Knight evaded one water sphere, only to land in the impact area of the next one.
He threw his body forward, pushing his friend away.

Radiant Shield's body trembled as he was doused in water, receiving a fixed amount of damage.
"Don't panic guys!"
"Sorry, bro…"
Sun's Knight looked guilty at Radiant Shield, feeling as if it would've been better to take the damage himself.
"Don't get distracted now!", warned Radiant Shield, not taking it to heart.
Fortunately, the skill slowly ended as Osick lowered his saber. Liam didn't waste a single second, activating Refresnim's dark orb of flight and shooting up the cliff.
Silver Blade was reminded by his actions.
"Focus, quick. Who has stance left? Tank one attack!"
Sun's Knight gritted his teeth, wanting to make up for his mistake. He dashed towards Osick, attacking swiftly. A sword swung through the air and clashed with the bluish armor.

Sun's knight felt awkward, having forgotten that Osick at this moment was back to level 15.
But fortunately, he kept his mind on high alert. When Osick's saber hacked down on his head the man hastily dodged.
[Stance -32]
"Quick, someone draw his aggro!"
As Sun's Knight shouted frantically, Silent Acacia reacted, sending out two arrows with [Flurry].
"Just wait, you will soon feed the sharks!"
Osick bellowed angrily as he rushed towards the thief. Silent Acacia tried to get away, but his movement speed wasn't enough. Luckily, just before the pirate captain could attack, his connection towards the trident was cut off.

Silver Blade's eyes lit up.
"Give it your all guys!"
Instantly skills and attacks flooded the pirate captain. Another chunk of his HP disappeared in a blink. But this time the dazed state lasted only for a short time.
"Damn it! Do you know who you're messing with?!"
Cyclone couldn't help but taunt the pirate captain:
"No, I don't. No one ever mentioned it before."
"You…!"
Osick's eyes spewed flames but unfortunately, he was bound by the game, forced to attack Silver Blade.
The blue saber slashed like a vicious wave. Silver Blade narrowed her eyes, waiting for the perfect timing.
[Brutal Slash]!

Silver Blade felt confident, but quickly her face fell. Osick's saber didn't stop!
"On no! He got used to the stun!"

"Silver!"
"Sh*t!"
"Drink a health potion, quick!", reminded Liam.
Silver Blade trembled, feeling the pressure. She almost instinctively reacted to Liam's shout. She took out a small bottle, downing the red liquid inside.

Every adventurer's best friend. Never leave the town without it.]

Everyone sighed in relief as they saw their tank returning to full health. Subconsciously the party developed a certain dependence towards Silver Blade.
"Don't slack off guys! This fight isn't over yet!"
Liam woke up his teammates as Osick gathered momentum for another attack. Radiant Shield narrowed his eyes. Hoping to share the pressure, he jumped before Silver Blade, tanking the next hit.

Nearly half of the burly man's HP vanished in an instant.
"I can still take another one!
Friends! Attack! End the pirate!"
Liam watched the fight with rapt attention. Another wave of attacks shaved away Osick's HP.
But the veteran wasn't convinced yet. From Osick's information he had still one skill left.
Liam was afraid that the pirate captain might enter berserk mode and defeat the party effortlessly.
Thus, he took out the minor poison he received from those zombies earlier.
Liam opened the bottle with deft hands and poured the viscous liquid on his blade. A moment later he flashed forward and cut Osick with the poisoned blade.

"Argh! You! I curse all of you!"
Osick's body trembled, his voice hoarse, sounding like a demon from hell. Veins popped up on his forehead.
Jumping backwards, the pirate captain stared at the party with hate-filled eyes.
"You asked for it! Feel the wrath of the Black Storm!"
"What's black storm?"
"Focus! We almost got it!"
"Bleary Mirage, fly quickly!"
Liam's chest tightened. The others didn't know but his orb of flight had no charges left. Fortunately, the poison was already ticking down.
"We only need to hold on for three seconds, guys! Don't panic!"
Liam encouraged his team while worry appeared in his eyes. He didn't know what the pirate captain was about to do.
Black Storm was the name of Osick's ship but in Liam's old life it wasn't involved in the fight at all.
The party could only watch as Osick reestablished his connection with the trident.
But this time no armor formed around the pirate captain. Instead, a bubble of water suddenly engulfed him.
Enclosed in the bubble Osick levitated. A storm formed out of nowhere, clouds gathering above.
Osick grinned ferociously as the bubble flashed and carried him toward the pirate ship in the distance.
A single dark word hung in the air.
"Despair!"
Bang!
Suddenly the ship rocked heavily. An explosion went off. A red line appeared on the wooden platform for less than a second.
Liam noticed the line below his feet. Without thinking about it, his instincts told him to dodge.
The veteran threw his body to the side.
Boom!
The platform shook crazily as a large cannonball flashed past it and crashed somewhere into the village.
Wooden splinters, dust, and water splashed. It was an impressive spectacle as the village was ripped apart.
Bus Osick didn't stop there, another cannonball quickly followed.
Silver Blade felt her body tense up as a red line appeared below her.
She was just about to dodge when a notification suddenly reached everyone.
