Three days later…
"Reiki, I—"
"You should focus on resting first. I don't have time to chat right now," Reiki interrupted. "Your father, Hokage-sama, is also experiencing some physical issues. If he isn't treated soon, it may…"
"Thud!"
Reiki collapsed to the ground before finishing his sentence.
The noise outside caught the attention of nearby ninjas, and a group of medical ninjas and ANBU rushed into the room. They found Reiki unconscious on the ground and Sarutobi Asuma, now awake, looking stunned.
"Quick, treat Reiki!" Asuma shouted. "And take me to Lord Hokage!"
The medics immediately began examining Reiki and administering chakra. Meanwhile, an ANBU ninja escorted Asuma to find his father, Sarutobi Hiruzen.
In the Hokage's office...
"Asuma? You're awake?" Sarutobi Hiruzen's face lit up upon seeing his son, though his tone held a hint of reproach. "You should be resting. Why are you here?"
"Reiki… Reiki said something is wrong with your health. He said if it's not treated, it may… it might…" Asuma trailed off, unsure how to continue.
"What might happen?" Sarutobi Hiruzen's irritation rose as Asuma struggled with his words.
"I… don't know. Reiki was already unconscious when he said this. The medics are treating him now." Asuma felt a wave of guilt wash over him, remembering everything Reiki had done for him. The regret weighed on him.
"I see." Sarutobi Hiruzen sighed. "Escort Asuma back to his mother," he instructed.
As Asuma was led away, Sarutobi Hiruzen's expression grew darker. This was the second time he'd been warned about an issue with his health. As he mulled over this, Orochimaru emerged from the shadows, looking displeased.
"Orochimaru, you said there was nothing wrong with my health," Sarutobi Hiruzen slammed his smoking pipe down on the table, frustration clouding his face. The tension in his chest grew with every passing moment.
"Hokage-sama, I found no abnormalities in your body. However, if Reiki suggested treatment, it's best to follow his advice. Let's have him treat you as soon as possible."
"Reiki is currently unconscious... I..." Sarutobi Hiruzen's frustration only deepened. He had found nothing after all this time, yet the discomfort was growing daily. Especially in the last two days, he'd noticed an unshakable soreness and weakness.
"Orochimaru, you may leave now. I'll handle the rest. And find yourself something useful to do. When it's time to elect a new Hokage, I don't want you missing out."
Sarutobi Hiruzen waved his hand dismissively, signaling Orochimaru to leave.

Elsewhere, within the Root organization…
"What? The Third Hokage is starting to suspect your experiments?" Danzo's eyes widened as Orochimaru reported the latest news. "And you say the Third Hokage might have health issues?"
"Yes, it seems likely," Orochimaru replied, voice low. "I believe he may even suspect you, Danzo. It would be wise to prepare yourself."
With a sly smile, Orochimaru turned into a small cluster of snakes and disappeared.
Danzo stared at the empty space, realizing the gravity of the situation. If Sarutobi Hiruzen suspected him, it would lead to a great upheaval in the village. He had to act.
"Is someone plotting something behind the scenes?" Danzo murmured to himself. "Investigate everyone who has recently interacted with the Third Hokage and Asuma. Check the entire village for any spies or outsiders skilled in poisoning."
With Danzo's command, the village was swept into a frenzy. ANBU and Root ninjas scoured every corner of Konoha, uncovering hidden spies and suspicious individuals.

The next day, at the interrogation department...
"Minister Yihe , we brought in dozens of suspects overnight. How… how should we handle them all?" a torture ninja asked, overwhelmed.
"We interrogate them one by one," Yihe replied firmly. "I didn't expect so many spies to be lurking in the village. We must uncover everything they know as quickly as possible."
Though tired, Yihe was resolute. They couldn't let this opportunity slip.
Suddenly, he thought of someone who could speed things along. Without delay, Yihe made his way to Tsunade's courtyard.
Upon arrival, he encountered several ANBU and Hokage-sama himself.
"Hokage-sama?" Yihe asked, surprised to see Sarutobi Hiruzen there.
"Yihe ? Why are you here?" Hiruzen asked, seeing Yihe's weary expression.
"I'm here to request Reiki's assistance," Yihe explained. "Our interrogation department is shorthanded with the influx of prisoners..."
But before he could continue, the door to Reiki's room burst open, and Shizune emerged, blocking the way. "Enough! Reiki is exhausted because of you all," she scolded. "The medical team has ordered strict rest for him. Why are so many people in Konoha seeking him out?"
Her fierce expression made it clear that Reiki's rest would not be disturbed. Defeated, Yihe let out a weary chuckle, realizing he would have to wait to ask for Reiki's help.
