Kapitel 166: Ch.166 Purifying the Bloodline!

Uchiha Shinji stepped forward to examine Sasuke's condition and then said, "Your body has fully recovered. If you want to be discharged, you can leave today."

Sasuke's gaze remained vacant, as if he hadn't heard Shinji's words.

Shinji glanced at Sasuke, thinking to himself, "Could it be that this kid's brain got messed up? Ugh, I really hope not; otherwise, my backup plan will be ruined."

At that moment, Sasuke's eyes suddenly focused. He looked at Shinji and said, "Shinji, I lost!"

"Well, isn't that obvious?"

Shinji held back from speaking and just complained internally.

Sasuke continued, "I thought my Sharingan could compete with him, but after fighting him, I realized my dojutsu is still not as strong as his."

Shinji offered some words of comfort, "He has the Mangekyo Sharingan. Losing to the Mangekyo isn't something to be ashamed of."

Sasuke gritted his teeth, "Just a little more, just a bit more! If my dojutsu were stronger, if I had awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, I could have avenged our Uchiha clan!"

"You're missing more than just a little…" Shinji thought to himself.

At this point, Itachi's dojutsu power was still at its peak. His vision hadn't deteriorated much, and he was in his prime. Combined with his near-peerless genjutsu talent, exceptional battle intuition, meticulous tactics, and the legendary weapons 'Totsuka Blade' and 'Yata Mirror,' along with the forbidden technique 'Izanami,' even Shinji, who possessed the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, had no confidence in defeating him.

After completing Sasuke's discharge procedures, Shinji escorted him back to his apartment but was intercepted by shinobi from the Anbu on the way.

Afterward, the Anbu took Sasuke away.

Sasuke's unauthorized departure from the village had been the spark that escalated tensions between the Five Great Shinobi Nations and the Akatsuki. Since Sasuke had been in a coma, questioning him had been delayed.

Now that he had woken up, the village naturally needed to question him, especially since the Hidden Leaf was eager for any information related to the Akatsuki.

As long as Itachi was alive, the village wouldn't truly harm Sasuke, so Shinji didn't worry much and returned to his laboratory in the Medical Corps.

In the lab, he put aside his wandering thoughts and focused on his experiments.

His infiltration of the moon had yielded significant gains.

The most crucial of these was undoubtedly the pair of Byakugan he had taken from the eye sockets of a member of the Otsutsuki Branch family.

After returning to the village, he carefully removed the control over the Byakugan and then extracted some cell samples from them.

Through various analytical instruments, he confirmed that the cellular structure of these Byakugan differed noticeably from those of Neji, a member of the Hyuga Clan.

In other words, although both shared Otsutsuki Hamura as an ancestor, the thousand-year divergence of the two clans had caused significant genetic changes, despite their shared lineage.

After comparing the new data, Shinji thought to himself, "Could it be that this difference between the two is what triggers the Byakugan to evolve into the Tenseigan?"

Shinji knew well that the Byakugan was a standard trait of the Otsutsuki clan.

But the Tenseigan was not.

Neither Otsutsuki Kaguya nor Otsutsuki Hagoromo had awakened the Tenseigan with their Byakugan, and even their shared ancestor with the Hyuga Clan, Otsutsuki Hamura, had no confirmed record of possessing a Tenseigan. As for those who came later, like Otsutsuki Momoshiki and Otsutsuki Urashiki, they also did not possess the Tenseigan.

Thus, it seemed that the Tenseigan was a rare evolutionary branch among the many possible evolutions of the Byakugan.

The bloodline of Otsutsuki Hamura appeared to be just one factor in the evolution of the Tenseigan.

Shinji speculated that another crucial factor was the native bloodline of the shinobi world.

In other words, only the bloodline resulting from the union between Otsutsuki Hamura and the natives of the shinobi world had the potential to awaken the Tenseigan.

This theory would explain why Otsutsuki Hamura himself didn't awaken the Tenseigan and why none of the Otsutsuki on the moon had naturally awakened a Tenseigan on their own.

The Otsutsuki clan on the moon were the direct descendants who followed Otsutsuki Hamura to the moon.

After settling there, they could only marry within their own clan to continue their bloodline, which meant that no matter how much they reproduced, the influence of the native bloodline in them remained minimal.

The creation of the Giant Tenseigan was likely a result of the concentrated native bloodline in many Byakugan, which stimulated the pure Byakugan chakra, leading to its evolution into Tenseigan chakra.

"Neji might have the chance to awaken the Tenseigan..."

If Shinji's speculation was accurate, then Neji and all other members of the Hyuga Clan might possess the basic qualifications for awakening the Tenseigan.

But if the Hyuga Clan wanted to awaken the Tenseigan, they faced a challenge that was the opposite of the Otsutsuki on the moon.

While the Otsutsuki on the moon struggled with a lack of native bloodline in their lineage...

The Hyuga Clan's challenge was that their bloodline from Otsutsuki Hamura had become too diluted.

Although the Hyuga Clan also practiced internal marriages...

Living in the shinobi world and interacting frequently with other clans meant they also often intermarried with those outside their clan.

So, over the millennia, the purity of their ancestor's bloodline was far less than that of the Otsutsuki on the moon.

For the Hyuga Clan to awaken the Tenseigan, their first hurdle was to purify their bloodline. The closer they could get to the bloodline of Otsutsuki Hamura, the higher their chances of awakening the Tenseigan.

Shinji closed his data log.

His experimental results matched his initial hypothesis. Ultimately, everything came down to purifying the bloodline.

To help Neji awaken the Tenseigan, Shinji needed to purify Neji's bloodline.

Neji might be one of the most talented members of the Hyuga Clan in recent years, but that alone was not enough. His Byakugan was not pure enough, and his body wasn't resilient enough.

Almost all of his parameters fell short compared to Otsutsuki Toneri from the moon.

With this in mind, Shinji began to formulate a plan.

The simplest way to purify the bloodline was through surgical transplants. As long as one could survive the critical stage of cellular integration, they could overcome any bloodline deficiencies.

And Shinji had already prepared the materials.

Kimimaro's Dead Bone Physique could strengthen Neji's body, while the Byakugan from the Otsutsuki Branch family could purify Neji's own Byakugan.

If Neji could withstand these two stages of bloodline purification, he would have the qualifications to attempt to awaken the Tenseigan!
