Kapitel 348: Fight or Retreat?
Hidan coughed up blood when he heard that. He could feel his organs bursting inside his body and then healing again. Even though all this wasn't having much of a physical effect due to his exceptional healing, it was putting a lot of mental pressure on Hidan. The continuous torture was not something he had ever experienced. The immortality that he was so proud of was now being used as a curse on him.
Deidara who was seeing all this from the top quickly threw a handful of his clay spiders toward Yami. He knew that it wouldn't be easy to break the control that Yami had on Hidan but the best he can do now is distract Yami and take Hidan away from Yami's reach.
As Gaara saw Deidara making a move, he directed some sand to form a curved roof over Yami and Hidan. This made the clay spiders detonate on the sand. Yami was sure of Gaara reacting to this kind of attack so he didn't even give much thought to defending against it.
Yami made an annoyed expression and said "I would have loved to play with you more and even get some information in the process but looks like this are getting too stuffy in here." as Yami completed saying that he shut his fists tightly and just as that happened, Hidan's skin all over his body started to swell unevenly and its color also changed to dark red.
It was truly disgusting to see and Hidan who had no idea was Yami was doing now was looking at his own disfigured body with fear in his eyes. His size continued to increase as if he was being inflated from the inside.
"What is happening to him?" Deidara asked as he looked at Hidan's partner Kakuzu. Kakuzu just took a few steps back and said "Whatever is happening, I don't want to be anywhere near it. This whole thing has been a shit show from the start."
Diedara looked at Yami in anger and said "It's all because of him...that kid...the Genjutsu demon..I will kill him."
"We cannot...they are already prepared for us...we need to think of something to leave this place." Sasori said.
Kankuro and the other sand shinobis were hearing this but none of them had the guts to go in and fight with the Akatsuki members. They all realized how big of a variable Yami was.
While all this was happening, Hidan had already grown double his size. He didn't even look human anymore as the swelling increased randomly.
"Back off" Yami said as he looked to the side a little warning Baki and the others behind him to make some distance. Baki without asking anything went back a few steps and the sand shinobis also followed his lead.
BOOOOOM
Like a balloon filled with flammable gas, Hidan burst. It created a really big explosion... at least enough for the sand shinobis to feel the heat of the blast on their skin. Yami just swiped his hand in front of him and an invisible shield of air appeared in front of him not letting any fire even come close to him.
As the explosion settled down, the sand shinobis were quite happy that the first Akatsuki member to be killed was in their village's vicinity and since the hidden leaf was an ally now, they were fine with having the victory in the hands of the genjutsu demon.
But then the smile on the faces of the sand shinobis turned into frowns when they saw the blood and flesh of Hidan moving through the sand trying to come back to his original place.
"Is he not dead even when he just burst in front of us?"
"Is he really immortal? What if even he, the genjutsu demon can't stop him?"
The sand shinobis started gossiping. They were horrified by seeing first Hidan just burst like a balloon and now his blood and flesh coming together. Just as Yami was thinking about how to get rid of this problem, he sensed two people coming toward him and Hidan but they weren't coming from the side of the open desert but from the hidden sand.
Yami turned back to look at the two old people coming wearing sand civilian clothes running toward them. Yami instantly recognized them because they were Lady Chiyo and her brother Ebizo. Their eyes weren't focused on Yami or Hidan but on Sasori. It had been years since they had seen their grandson and now when they are seeing him, he is an enemy and a very strong one at that.
"Elders, how come you two are here?" Baki asked as he quickly bowed to the two old elders.
Chiyo reluctantly took away her gaze from Sasori and then looked at Yami and then at Baki and said "At first, I didn't want to believe when Gaara sent me the letter talking about the attack. I would never trust a hidden leaf shinobi even if we are in alliance with them. But now sensing the amount of chakra being emitted from this place...I had to believe."
"Hehe...what else could make old bones like us come out of the retired life. We were bored catching fish anyways." Elder Ebizo said with a smile on his face. He then looked at Yami and walked toward him.
"The amount of pressure and strength you radiate is really enormous. You remind me of the monster we had seen in our time. The hidden leaf truly is a land of prodigies."
Yami didn't reply to the old man's compliment and looked at Lady Chiyo who was now walking toward Hidan.
"Do you have any way to handle him Elder Chiyo?" Gaara asked respectfully.
"I don't know what to do to kill him but for now I am confident enough to make sure that he won't be a problem for quite a while." Granny Chiyo said as she pulled out a few talisman's from his jacket and a white tape.
'I didn't know they had a talisman for this as well. I should have really paid a little more attention to fuinjutsu.' Yami thought. When he was growing in this world, he did try fuinjutsu but he realized that he didn't have any talent for it and slowly the topic of fuinjutsu dropped from his priority list.
Lady Chiyo threw four talismans which surrounded the area where Hidan's blood and flesh were spread and then started hovering in the air. She then threw the white tape which was in the form of a large spool. The tape kept extending and wrapped around the entire area. In the end, it created something like a mummy but its shape was close to that of a human and it was already squirming inside the white tape.
The 4 talismans attached to the mummified Hidan. Yami had already seen something similar to this in the anime during the 4th great ninja war and Yami was sure that now different characters will appear and the sealing jutsu is completed but this time, the entire mummy started to turn into stone including the tape.
After a few seconds, the entire mummy looked like a sculpture of a mummy. Yami didn't understand how Chiyo turned the man into stone but he wasn't going to ask her. Chiyo was one of the orthodox people who were still alive and asking something from them first is like giving them a chance to attack. And even though Chiyo has still come to the battlefield, she still isn't much supportive of the alliance.
Kakuzu took a step toward the mummified Hidan but Chiyo just threw another long piece of tape and pulled Hidan toward her.
"Don't even think about it." Chiyo said as she caught the heavy carved stone and slammed it on the ground.
After giving a warning to Kakuzu, she looked at her grandson and said "I never thought I would meet you in such circumstances...Sasori"
"Huh? Sasori? Do you mean Elder Chiyo's grandson? Sasori of the red sand?" the sand shinobis started talking in shock. They never thought that one of the Akatsuki members is their own and especially an elder's grandson.
Sasori didn't say anything and pulled out a big brown puppet with blue hair. The puppet opened his mouth and shot a few darts from it. Lady Chiyo was about to stop them with her puppets but suddenly Yami appeared in the way and flicked the darts away with just his fingers.
"Now that Hidan is taken care of. I think you will entertain me quite properly." Yami said and was about to take his first step when Lady Chiyo shouted at Gaara "This fight has been going on for too long now. We have an Akatsuki member in our possession. Drive the rest of the 3 away now."
