"Hey, Sasuke..."
I hummed at being addressed, still looking at my newest student with a great amount of interest.
"Mind telling me why Naruto is fighting himself?"
I hummed again, not answering. What could I say, anyway? I would be too much for him right now, he needed someone on an equal level, so who better than himself?
"He's training."
I answered after a while, watching the original get slightly better after every fight. Even if he was natural, that progress was too fast. It took months of training, and some combat experience to adjust you're swinging effectively, but seriously, he was already getting the edge alignment down. On day one.
"It's the clones isn't it?"
I asked suddenly, not getting any visible response from my teacher, but it was enough.
It was the clones.
"What makes you say that?"
I wasn't in the mood for this, but now is as good a time as any to play mind games.
"If my theory is correct, the clones transmit memories, or in this case, the feeling of impact. It's impressive memorizing how it feels to be sliced through with a blade even though I only cut through a few clones yesterday. I don't think he knows that he's doing it, either. It's either talent, or it's in his blood."
I remarked, giving a passing glance at the man next to me. He stiffened minutely. It was so subtle that I doubt that even an experienced eye would have a hard time seeing it.
So, one of his parents was adept at using a sword. Maybe a line of ninjutsu users? Thoughts for later.
"So, where did he get that sword?"
I rolled my eyes, yes, change the topic. Not like I'm interested or anything.
"I gave it to him. Immediately requested to learn some killer moves."
I smirked, looking at the sumbass that got hit on the head, and started rubbing it while crouching down, dropping the training sword.
... He just dropped his weapon, great.
"Can you take over? My patience is enduring but it has its limits."
I sighed and rubbed my forehead in irritation.
The first lesson was simple, never let go of you're weapon unless you're dead or it's broken.
In a world like this, a weapon was a good option to attack and the last line of defense.
Looks like the clone at least remembered that as he bonked the original over the head again.
"Hm... You say that you are patient, but those attacks were certainly performed in quick succession yesterday."
Takashi muttered, turning his head so that his single visible eye could stare at me with a deadpan.
"They worked, didn't they?"
The silver-haired man snorted and started walking towards my blonde teammate.
I looked at my gloves for a moment, clenching and unclenching my fist.
With a bit of chakra sent to my fingers, a single shuriken appeared between my pointer and middle finger.
I scowled, too slow, it was too slow.
The time it took for the chakra to enter the glove could be detrimental. Was there a cloth that could channel chakra more effectively? Or did I have to get the seals tattooed on my arms?
Releasing a sigh that no doubt tried to pull out my King's with it, I stood up and cracked my neck. This was going to be a pain.
Looking up, I turned around and placed a leg on the tree I was sitting against, and started climbing up.
Plucking a few leaves, I jumped down, landing without a sound, and sat down again.
Dropping the leaves between my crossed legs while keeping one in hand, I concentrated my chakra on my palms as I encircled the leaf inside my palms.
I needed power. A sudden burst of measurable power. Powerful enough to be without equal. What I needed was a force of nature that I would bend to my whim, used it as I saw fit, and...
"What are you doing, Tattebayo?"
My eyes slowly opened, looking at the blue-eyed blonde for a moment, and blinked.
Kakashu was standing next to him, face in his orange book. Though all of his attention, and interest, was on me.
"Chakra control."
I shrugged and looked down at my palms, making the leaf float between my palms as I parted them.
Naruto blinked, and Kakashi just flipped a page.
"Oh."
That's it?
I rolled my eyes and let the leaf drop on my palm as I stood up and stretched.
My legs were almost asleep.
How long was I sitting there?
"How did you're training go, Naruto?"
The blonde brightened up immediately, holding up his wooden sword in the air with excitement, almost hitting our teacher in the meantime, who just leaned to the side.
"It was great! Kakashi-Sensei really helped me a bunch!"
I looked over at the said silver-haired teacher and raised an eyebrow. Hmm. So he knew how to use a sword, neat.
A sparring partner would be much appreciated.
"Hey, Sensei, mind showing me the lightning nature change exercise?"
I searched the Uchiha library up and down but I only got the fire nature change one that required a leaf, so I just assumed that crumbling the leaf was the requirement for the lightning nature change.
"I do, actually. You're a Genin, nature change is a requirement to rank up to jounin. I say make it to chunin first."
He just shrugged and flipped another page...
Whatever.
"Since Sakura is here now, we can go and take a mission."
I hummed, she was standing right next to me, but I did not turn to look at her as I started to walk.
Mission awaits. What will it be? Assassination? Clearing a bandit camp? Protection detail?
Only time would tell.

"... Painting a fence..."
I said, quietly as I started at the leader of our village. He was an old man, weathered by wars and combat. His body was covered by a white robe along with a hat that had the symbol of fire on the tip.
"Yes."
I hummed, carefully keeping my face blank as I turned to my teammates and a very amused teacher.
"Don't worry team, I have a plan."
Takashi blinked or winked, it was hard to tell since three-fourths of his face was covered, but that wasn't important.
I had a plan.
And payback was a bitch.
