Chapter 43: Uchiha Madara II
........
Isaac's disappearance certainly didn't stop the world from moving on, although it was quite difficult to do so.
The world had to move on eventually, an example of which is Eternal News ceasing operation, or rather, vanishing from the world as if it had never been there.
The nobles and the Daimyos couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief at that, for their life was hell since Eternal News showed itself.
Eternal News' control over information was so big that any of their journals could change the course of history.
That includes Eternal News' strange ability to have eyes throughout the world, so when any noble or Daimyo did something worthy of reporting, it would certainly be there in the very next release.
And it would be there with video proof, due to Isaac's memory instilling technique.
Due to their deeds more often than not being atrocities, Eternal News' reporting of that would almost always cause outrage among the people, leading to various rebellions and bloodshed.
Hell, many nobles fell due to the rebellions of their people, although it was quite rare. After all, the nobles have Shinobi as their lapdogs.
However, while the nobles really could care less about the lives of their people, they cared much about their source of income, the people, so these rebellions were extremely painful for them.
Therefore, throughout Eternal's News' existence, the world and its common people experienced a sort of peace never seen before.
Moreover, the world experience progress for Eternal News didn't just report the atrocities, it also reported good acts and satisfactory decisions.
The nobles liked such reports for fame and admiration and also brought them ample riches.
Therefore, the Eternal News was pretty much the bane of the nobles, forcing their back against the wall, knowing that there were unknown eyes watching them from the dark.
They didn't have to worry about that anymore, although most were still afraid of Eternal News coming back. After all, they didn't know why it suddenly vanished.
However, all it took was a noble having the courage to go back to his old ways, then another followed, and another, then many followed suit.
There were many exceptions though, the Fire Country is one of them. Isaac's influence over it was too deep to disappear.
It took only so long before many had to move on as the Daimyo invited the Hokage to his mansion, the two reaching a deal regarding Isaac's company, Cosmic Eye Innovations.
After all, the company needs some intelligent minds to take over what was Isaac's job, and the chief inventor who took the job was none other than Orochimaru, under Sarutobi's instructions.
It was wonderful news for the Hokage as the funds from the company will make things much easier for Konoha.
There came the bad news though for during his trip to the Daimyo's mansion, the Scroll Of Seals was stolen.
That came as a surprise due to how heavily guarded it is as one would have to be a master of Sealing Techniques to be able to even approach it, let alone get rid of all the destructive mechanisms on it.
And no matter how much they searched, there was absolutely no clue who took it. Fortunately, Konoha kept copies of the scroll just in case.
However, that was only the start of the Hokage's troubles as the people's reaction to the end of the war left him with no choice but to step down.
The war, speaking of the war. It became very messy after Isaac's disappearance, or what most believe to be death.
The Uchihas went on a rampage, especially against the Land Of Lightning, the latter facing not only the murderous intent of Konoha but also the surrounding smaller countries.
They saw the death of the Third Raikage to be an opportunity to invade the Land of Lightning. Only, the new Raikage wasn't so easy to deal with, the Third Raikage's son, named Ay, the Fourth Raikage.
The most troublesome though were the Shinobi of the Land of Earth, specifically, the Village of Iwa whose desire for war still remained unquenched even though the Third Hokage proposed a peace treaty.
The war against them would've gone on for far longer if Minato hadn't single-handedly stopped an invasion consisting of a thousand Iwa shinobi.
Yet In Konoha, although the war had been proceeding favorably for the village, the Third Hokage still established a policy of reconciliation to bring an end to the fighting with an unprecedented offer to not seek reparations from Iwa.
Advocates for the war opposed Hiruzen's seemingly weak decision, and the war advocates were many if not most.
That's mostly due to the possible assassination of Isaac, something they assumed to have been done by one of the opposing villages.
Therefore, seeking peace when many were hungry for the enemy's throats had the exact effect you'd expect, and to keep dissatisfaction and anger in the village in check, Sarutobi had to step down as Hokage.
The Konoha shinobi that received the most attention for their war efforts in the village were the Sannin and Minato.
Out of the two teams, Minato who was the key factor in the war that gained the moniker of Konoha's Yellow Flash alongside Orochimaru, were the only two candidates village officials put forward to succeed Hiruzen. Ultimately, it was Minato who became the Fourth Hokage.
Strangely, Minato succeeded so easily because Orochimaru gave up even trying, apparently having no time to waste on anything other than research.
Maybe the Runic Code Isaac provided him was too attractive of a gift, so vast that Orochimaru felt he could spend his entire life studying it, yet never reaching an end.
"You learn fast," None of the former concerned neither Madara nor Isaac, spending months underground, in darkness.
It was months of learning, of Madara teaching Isaac all he could in regards to the plan and Ninja techniques to make sure the kid was ready for what was to come.
"My eyes are wonderful," Isaac nodded. His cosmic eyes are truly gorgeous though that wasn't exactly what he meant.
"They are indeed, although I had my doubts in the beginning," Uchiha Madara added, "They suit you quite well."
After all, Mangekyo Sharingan's unique abilities are manifestations of the user's soul and personality, and Isaacs suits him perfectly.
It seems that Isaac has come to trust Madara very much, so much so that he has told him about his unique abilities.
"I have nothing left to teach you, and my end is drawing near," Uchiha Madara suddenly muttered as he closed his eyes, resting in his chair.
It was very apparent that he didn't have much time left in this world, his skin all wrinkled, his hair all white, his voice low as if it were the last moments of his life.
It's the last moments of his life. In fact, Madara would've been long dead if not for the Demonic statue behind him.
The Demonic Statue is the husk of the Ten-Tails that remained after its chakra was separated from its body.
It was sealed in the moon long ago where it remained until Madara Uchiha awakened the Rinnegan.
This allowed him to break the seal and summon the statue down to Earth where it can be used as a container for the tailed beasts.
Its uses were many though as the rube connecting it to Madara allowed him to survive way longer than what should be possible. Not long enough to achieve his plans himself though, thus the need for Isaac.
"It's my time to go, but I'll leave you a guide before I go," Madara murmured as his hand reached out for the white entity beside him, something he calls White Zetsu, "Do not disappoint me."
Madara's hands emitted a black mass that melded together and attached itself to White Zetsu, slowly but surely taking over half of the white entity to form what will become known as Black Zetsu.
"To disappoint you is to disappoint myself... That won't happen," Isaac calmly assured Madara, the relation between them certainly not deep enough to draw any emotional response.
"I am assured then," Uchiha Madara closed his eyes as the pipes connected to his back detached themselves from him, giving him only enough time to say, "Farewell."
Madara was assured, though not from Isaac's promise or words, but what he believed to be the manifestation of his will, Black Zetsu.
That and the Forbidden Individual Curse Tag he placed in Isaac's heart when the latter was first brought here, unconscious and vulnerable.
The cursed seal was placed directly on Isaac's heart and by design, prevents him from taking his own life or removing the cursed seal himself... The script was near completion.
