Kapitel 33: Chapter 33 - Itachi vs Anko

The genin, with the exception of Anko, who was standing with her head down, were greatly encouraged when they heard that Yusuke would be the first to choose. It seemed, except for Anko, they all hoped to be chosen by him. But Yusuke noticed something interesting when he looked at Anko, even though her head was lowered, from time to time she secretly glanced in his direction.

"Uchiha Itachi," Yusuke called the first name. As a student, it was obvious that Itachi would be on his team.

Looking at the remaining genin, Yusuke thought for a moment. Mentally, he had already decided to take Anko into the team, now it remains only to choose the last genin and the team will be formed. Yusuke looked at Hayate Gekko and Uzuki Yugao and decided not to break up this pair of childhood friends, as for the latter, Mizuki, he was not at all interested in him.

"Kurama Kyoka" - Yusuke chose a weak-looking girl.

When Yuusuke said his middle name, Anko's shoulders trembled involuntarily. In her heart, Anko really wanted Yuusuke to choose her for his team. Although in the past, she often argued with Yuusuke and was not happy about his presence, she still considered him one of her close people.

"Why didn't he choose me, doesn't he want to have anything to do with me because of Orochimaru-sama's escape?" Anko mentally asked herself, subconsciously clenching her two small fists.

"Mitarashi Anko" It was at this moment that Yuusuke said Anko's name. At this time, Mitarashi Anko was still a child, and so when she heard her name, she looked at Yusuke with a happy expression on her face. But when she saw the smirk on the young man's face, she immediately guessed that he had chosen her last only because he wanted to tease. Realizing this, she quickly hid the joy on her face.

When Yuusuke finished choosing, the three remaining genin, Mizuki, Gekko, and Yugao, were automatically assigned to Hayama's group.

After leaving the Hokage residence, Yusuke took his group to the training ground so they could introduce themselves. This was an important part of the process in the formation of a new detachment.

"I'll be your captain during these Chunin Exams. I know Itachi and Anko, but since we have a new face today, let's reintroduce ourselves." Yusuke said. "I am Yusuke Uchiha, I am the best at ninjutsu, kenjutsu and genjutsu. I like green tea, I don't like greasy food."

The three genin showed completely different emotions to Yuusuke's words. Itachi maintained a calm expression, Anko's eyes sparkled, and Kyoka showed utter surprise.

Yusuke turned his head to look at Kyoka, nodded and smiled. But to his surprise, Kyouka, seeing his smile, took two steps back, as if she was afraid of something, now she was looking at Yuusuke with fear.

"Something is wrong? Yusuke asked in surprise, "Am I really that scary when I smile?"

Kurama Kyoka actions dealt a blow to Yuusuke, who thought he had good looks, but now he had some doubts.

Standing aside, Anko tried to cover her mouth with her hand to hold back her laughter. But she didn't succeed, looking at Yusuke's awkward expression, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't help herself. But, fortunately or unfortunately, her laughter did not last long, as the sight of Yuusuke reminded her of Orochimaru. Her laughter stopped immediately, returning her sad look.

"I am Uchiha Itachi, I am seven years old, I am a student of Uchiha Yuusuke. Currently, I can use some ninjutsu, taijutsu and genjutsu techniques. My favorite food is cabbage, onigiri and dango, not my favorite food is steak." Itachi pulled Yuusuke out of the awkward situation very cleverly by shifting the focus to himself.

"I'm Mitarashi Anko, ten years old, good at some ninjutsu and taijutsu techniques. My favorite food is sweet bean and dango soup, not my favorite, all food with a spicy flavor!" Hearing that Anko likes dango, Itachi subconsciously glanced at her.

After Anko finished, three pairs of eyes looked in unison at Kyoka, the last member of their group.

Noticing that all three eyes were on her, Kyouka suddenly blushed and subconsciously took a step back, stumbled and slammed her butt on the ground. It was not known whether from pain, or from embarrassment, tears appeared in the girl's eyes. Yuusuke and the others looked at each other, wondering what was wrong with this girl.

"S-sorry, m-my name is Kurama Kyouka, eight years old, I'm good at genjutsu, I have a f-weak body and therefore, I don't know a lot of taijutsu and ninjutsu techniques… b-most of all I am afraid of death. I'm really sorry!" Kyouka struggled to get up and introduced herself stutteringly, bowing and apologizing along the way.

After the girl introduced herself, all three finally understood why she was behaving this way. Yusuke shook his head helplessly, realizing that he had chosen a very weak genin. But remembering that despite her shortcomings, the Third Hokage had chosen her to represent Konoha, Yuusuke put aside his negative thoughts and decided to first find out the girl's abilities.

"So, now that the show is over, listen to me carefully! Yuusuke straightened up and looked around at all three of them with a stern look. "This Chunin Exam is not just an exam, but a task that needs to be completed. Since you have been selected for my team, you are both my students and my subordinates for the period of the exam. Remember, you must unquestioningly follow all my orders, otherwise, you will be severely punished, is everything clear ?!

"Yes!" Seeing that Yuusuke had become serious, all three of them answered in unison with solemn faces. Even the mischievous Anko, who usually liked to joke around, didn't dare to do so at a moment like this.

Yusuke nodded in satisfaction, his face softening again as he smiled, "Very well, now while we are not on a mission, you can relax a bit. In two days, we will go to Hidden Sand Village, before that, I want to see how strong you all are now, so I can give you some advice.

Anko, Kyoka, you will form a team and fight Itachi" Yuusuke said, wanting to see them in action.

Yuusuke was very confident in Itachi. This child was extremely confident and determined, otherwise how could he have slaughtered his own clan. This required great determination and a strong will, otherwise the person would go crazy. Moreover, now, under the guidance of Yuusuke, Itachi has become even stronger than in the original version. Although Anko and Kyōka are much older than Itachi, they are still not his opponents.

"You underestimate me! Watch me deal with this kid! Anko was dissatisfied with Yusuke's decision, and believed that he belittled her abilities too much. She refused to believe that a student of one of the Three Legendary Sannins could lose to a seven year old child. "Kyouka, stay there and watch me deal with him!"

"W-ok, ok, please be careful," Kyouka replied in a thin voice.

As Anko spoke, Itachi remained where he was, calmly waiting for the start. However, it didn't escape Yusuke's mind that when Anko called Itachi "baby", the youth's eyebrows twitched unconsciously, apparently Anko's words hurt Itachi a little.

"Begin!" As soon as Yuusuke signaled, Anko made her move. From her right hand, six dark brown snakes burst out and opened their mouths wide, rushing towards Itachi.

Itachi remained completely calm in the face of these snakes, which could not be said about Kyouka, who turned pale with fear. Seeing this, Yusuke shook his head, wondering why the Third Hokage allowed someone like her to participate in this exam.

Leaping from side to side, Itachi calmly dodged all of Anko's snakes and finished folding the hand seals at the same time. Then, backing away a bit, Itachi fired several small fireballs at Anko.

Anko was shocked by Itachi's speed, but that didn't stop her from reacting in time and dodging all the fireballs with her snakes. As Anko concentrated on dodging, Itachi jumped into a nearby tree, activated his Sharingan, and threw multiple kunai at her.

Anko also noticed Itachi's actions, but didn't understand what he was trying to do. Itachi threw kunai with little force, so they were very slow and not to mention shinobi, even an ordinary person would be able to dodge them.

Putting aside unnecessary thoughts, dodging all the fireballs, Anko rushed towards Itachi with the help of snakes, just then, she noticed how he once again threw a kunai. But this time, the kunai thrown by Itachi were so fast that Anko did not even have time to understand what had happened, as new kunai hit the old ones and the latter, changing their trajectory, all rushed towards her at once.

To her horror, Anko discovered that each kunai had a thin thread tied to it. She knew what kind of threads they were, such threads were often used by shinobi to capture or trap.

"Not good!" Anko thought as she pulled out a kunai, intending to cut the threads wrapped around her body. However, at this time, Itachi grabbed the strings and jumped down from the tree, using the branch as a lever, causing the threads around the girl to quickly tighten and hang her upside down from the branch.

"Bastard, let me go, your tactics are too despicable!!" Anko yelled angrily, swinging her legs furiously.

The whole fight took less than a minute, Yuusuke was very pleased with his student. Not only was his hand seal speed close to his own, but his intelligence was nowhere near what an ordinary child of his age could possess.

I can't wait to see what heights he can reach in the future, now that he's on the right path, Yusuke mentally said looking at his student with pride. This was the first time Yusuke had felt this way, the feeling that all his efforts had been worth the time and effort.

At that moment, Kyouka stood with her eyes wide open, everything that happened in those few minutes surprised her a lot. She never thought that kunai could be used in this way.

Itachi walked over to Anko, who was still hanging from the branch, and bowed, "Thanks for the fight Anko-san, as a token of appreciation, I can show you a great restaurant that serves very tasty dango!"
