Kapitel 1: Chapter 1: The Magical Herb

(A/N: Since a lot of people have been saying the MCs appearance choice was silly, I changed it. I'm not changing In again)

MC POV:

"MOVE!" *SCREECH* *BAM*!

Ugh my head. Wait, my head? Wasn't I? Am I in the hospital? But this doesn't look like a hospital. No it can't be… Can it be?! Well my best option is to wait. I mean I can't really go anywhere else. You know, circumstances.

It's kind of dark but I guess I can get used to it. Maybe I can absorb some of the energy in this space and take it to my next world. Speaking of my next world, I need to start thinking of powers. HAHAHA! I can't wait!

—————————————————————————

Hours? Later..

I wonder how long I've been here? Most fan-fiction MCs usually end up staying in their respective void for thousands or millions of years before a light or some entity just appears. I'm only bringing this up now because that's exactly what's happening in front of me.

A ball of light no bigger than a softball illuminated the entire space. At first the light was blinding and then I saw it. Honestly it wasn't really anything special. Just a softball sized ball of multicolored light swirling seamlessly together.

At first there was silence. I didn't really know what to expect since I honestly didn't believe that this situation would ever be occurring. Sure I've fantasized about going to my favorite manga worlds but that's all it was; a fantasy.

Snapping out of my thoughts I was about to speak when the ball of light started first, "Before you get your hopes up in thinking you'll be able to choose anything pertaining to your reincarnation, you're wrong. The reason you've been in this space for so long is because I was pulling some strings and calling in favors so you could exist without worry. Who you are in this new world is already determined. You have no choice in the matter. The only thing you have control over is your power but that comes later. For now, since I'm feeling generous I'll allow you to choose the appearance of your new self."

What. The. Fuck. Do I even have a choice? No! I don't have a choice! It even told me so! OK.. Breathe… At least I'm able to choose my appearance. Collecting my scrambled mind I focus back on the ball of light, "Who Am I?" Wow that feels weird to ask. I know who I am but I'm dead, I'm not him anymore.

"Ares, the Greek God of War."

Ares huh? "OK well since I'll be Ares I want to look like the classical paintings of a young Ares minus the helmet of course. You know, blonde hair, gray eyes, handsome? Yeah. If I'm Ares I won't mind looking like that forever."

"You know you won't be born with a helmet on right?"

"… Oh… I knew that." Fuck. I was caught up in the moment. Of course I won't have the helmet. I'll just look like him. AGHH!

"Granted. And now you go. My favorite team is playing."

"Wait.. Wha" That's all I could get out before everything went black.

Hera POV:

I've been pestering Zeus for the past weeks about having a child but he continues to ignore my pleas in favor of his first child Athena. I don't dislike the child, but seeing her and Zeus' interactions and hearing him say that "He's just happy with her" pains me. I want a child too! Maybe it's selfish of me. But so what? The children I bear will be strong. I know it! Once my baby is born and Zeus sees how much power and strength it has he will finally mount me with the intention of children. Yes! But my baby is not a tool! No way! I am the Goddess of marriage, women, and family! I will love my child like no other! That's a promise! Coming out of my thoughts I notice I've arrived at my destination which was a meadow surrounded by ash trees, oak trees, and many other flora.

"Lady Hera, I'm glad you could make it!" A Dryad said excitedly.

"Ah Chloris I wouldn't miss this moment for anything" Chloris is a Minor Goddess and Dryad whose divinity lies in flowering plants. She was a woman of five feet and two inches and had such a beautiful figure and face that would make other goddesses, major and minor, jealous and male gods want to devour her.

Before this encounter I did attempt to ask my sister Demeter who is the Goddess of Agriculture about my problem, but she's too busy revitalizing the Earth's nature with the help of Gaia hence Chloris is my only hope.

"Is the herb ready?" I ask, coming out of my thoughts, my voice sounding a little anxious. I just hope the child comes out just the way I want it.

"Yes my lady. All that is required of you is to ingest the herb and nature will take the rest."

"I know I'll have to wait so how long? I've already been patient enough and with a constant reminder of what I don't have in front of me everyday; I can't wait much longer. My patience is running thin." I said with a sigh.

"Be at ease Lady Hera. You will sleep, and when you wake, you will have your child." Chloride said with a tender smile on her face and as if agreeing with her birds sang and the grass grew greener. New flowers bloomed and the wind that was once calm began to pick up making the stagnant ash and oak trees sway almost in a dancing motion.

"Amazing." That was all I could say. 'Is this Demeter's doing?' I wondered to myself.

"I'm ready, Chloris, bring me the herb." I said starting to undress. What? I don't know how this birth will happen. Athena came out of Zeus' head. There's no telling where this child will come out of me.

"As you wish my lady." Said Chloris as she manifested the magical herb and handed it to me.

"OK here we go." And I opened my mouth.

MC POV:

Now what? Here I am once again in some black space. Why is this happening?! Usually in fanfiction after you meet the ROB you get reincarnated and *poof* life. NOT THIS! Well on the bright side at least I'm still alive. "Technically".

Anyway while I've been in here I've been thinking. Since I'm a curious person, in my past life I went on a Greek mythology binge. Let me tell you. I was disgusted. But at the same time I couldn't stop digging deeper and deeper into the mythology.

I once found out that in some stories Ares was created by Hera with the help of a magical plant. I hope that's how I'm born. I don't want to be Zeus' son. After reading so much into the Greek myths it would be hard to not outright scowl in his face. Out of all the Gods in the Greek Pantheon he is the worst. And people say Ares was bad.

Is this going to take much longer? Slowly but surely I'm losing pieces of myself. People appear in my memories, their names I've long forgotten . The only thing I can remember is, unsurprisingly, my knowledge on anime, manga, fan-fiction, and other things related to fantasy. I don't even remember my old name.

Hmm? Suddenly I heard something. Women?

"Oh my he's beautiful Lady Hera! Congratulations!" Squealed one woman.

Hera? Mother?

"Yes thank you Chloris. He is beautiful, my handsome little prince." Said my now mother whose hand I could feel gently caress my cheek.

"My son, it's me, your mother. My name is Hera the Goddess of marriage, women, and family and you are my first born child. No matter what you do I will always stand behind you. Where once there was hope there is now reward. My boy, my eldest, from this day you shall be named…

ARES!!
