The alarm clock went off as soon as the green digits on the black cuboid clock's display changed to 05:30.

As though on reflex, the left hand on the figure that had themselves buried beneath the white duvet shot out with conditioned perfection and slapped it, shutting it off before it could beep for a fifth time.

After about half a minute of silence, they sat up.

They stared blankly into space for a few seconds before they robotically turned their head slowly, taking in their surroundings.

They drank in the view again and again, as though they were looking for something.

In truth, they were just trying to understand why they were here. It did not make any sense to them, since this place was a place relegated to their memories since forever.
