Gary Smith put it on his shoulder, lined up to check out quietly, and listened to it tell about its past glory. He didn't speak, just listened quietly.
He listened to Mousie talk about how, after starving for three days, it found a half bag of discarded tomato-flavored chips, and how happy it was after eating them.
That was luscious delicacy far more enjoyable than hamster food.
