**ADDIE'S POV**

So much was going on that I didn't understand. Literally, this entire day was throwing me off. The queen, who I have feared meeting since I found out about this lunch, was not hating me. Instead, she wanted to be my friend. And both she and the king wanted to be more casual with me. Was this for real? Was this really happening? Or was it some sort of setup? Was I going to get too casual and then I would be found to be committing treason? This just didn't make any sense to me, and it was giving me a headache.

I think that I just needed to play along for now, but not actually get too friendly or casual with them. I mean, I had already vowed to myself that I was going to harden my heart. I needed to make sure that I protected myself above all else.
