"Could it be a chakra control issue? Or a matter of quantity?" Naruto scratched the back of his head, muttering in frustration.
He couldn't quite figure it out. If it were a chakra control issue, it didn't make sense. Both Clone Jutsu and Transformation Jutsu were part of the same category as Multi Clone Jutsu. There was no reason why controlling the latter should be more challenging. In fact, Naruto thought that Transformation Jutsu was the most difficult among the three since it required precise timing and consideration of the objects being transformed into.
Furthermore, chakra quantity shouldn't be an issue. Naruto had never heard of Multi Clone Jutsu requiring a specific chakra amount for control. It wasn't an advanced jutsu; it should work as long as one had enough chakra. Naruto had experimented with different chakra levels, but nothing seemed to work. Even after consulting Iruka and trying various approaches, he was still stuck in this awkward situation.
Iruka, who had seen Naruto's attempts at using Multi Clone Jutsu, was equally perplexed. Clone and Transformation Jutsu were working perfectly fine. But why was Multi Clone Jutsu causing so much trouble?
There was no clear answer. All Iruka could do was offer words of encouragement and tell Naruto to keep trying. After all, Naruto was only in his second year at the academy, and he had over four years until graduation. There was no need to rush.
Naruto sighed, looking at his imperfect clones created with MultiClone Jutsu. "Well, at least I've made some progress. I can barely tell it's me now. That's something, right?"
Releasing the jutsu once again, he couldn't help but feel frustrated. He was unable to find a reason for his struggles with Multi Clone Jutsu. It was as if there was a bug in the technique.
"Ah, well, let's call it a day," Naruto decided. He watched the sun setting in the distance and stretched his tired body. After gathering his belongings and the wild vegetables he had collected earlier, he headed back towards the forest's edge, ready to return home.
"I need to adjust my training plan," he thought aloud. "I can continue practicing Multi Clone Jutsu for a while, but I shouldn't waste too much time on it. The focus should be on improving my physical abilities. I'm running out of kunai, too. I should ask Iruka-sensei for more tomorrow. Ah, I'm so tired..."
As the sun sank lower, casting a final golden glow across the land, Naruto walked home. When he arrived, he had a simple dinner and took a short break before sitting down at his desk with his textbooks.
Daytime was for training, and nighttime was for studying—this had been Naruto's routine for the past year. He not only learned the content taught in class but also read various books related to ninja, jutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu. Thanks to Iruka, he had easy access to these resources. However, Iruka occasionally reminded Naruto not to bite off more than he could chew and to focus on quality over quantity.
Naruto's enthusiasm for learning was something Iruka appreciated. The more time they spent together, the closer their bond became. Iruka, once wary of Naruto's status as the Jinchuriki of the Nine-Tails, had grown to see Naruto as an individual and not just a vessel. Naruto's resilience and determination had won Iruka's admiration.
Iruka was also more invested in Naruto's future. While Naruto's progress exceeded Iruka's expectations in many areas, some inconsistencies due to Naruto's self-taught approach led to misjudgments. Still, Naruto's eagerness to learn was commendable.
After studying for hours, Naruto stretched his neck, feeling a bit sore. He noticed the time on the clock.
"Ah... Is it this late already?" He yawned. "I have to wake up early tomorrow. Time for bed."
Naruto closed his textbooks, stood up, and walked to the bathroom. After a quick shower, he went to bed. Within moments, he fell into a deep sleep.
However, this night would be unlike any other. An unexpected event was about to disrupt Naruto's peaceful slumber.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
A sudden explosion reverberated through the sky above Konoha. Flames shot up into the heavens, creating a blazing canopy of light that shattered the village's tranquility.
The deafening roar, the glaring firelight, and the faint sounds of battle filled the night. Naruto, who had been peacefully asleep moments ago, was now wide awake.
Startled, Naruto quickly got out of bed and rushed to the window. His eyes widened as he looked toward the northwest corner of Konoha, where the raging inferno cast an eerie glow across the village.
"That direction... If I'm not mistaken, it's the Uchiha clan's compound, right? Such a massive fire... Could this be the Night of the Uchiha Clan's Massacre? The timing matches."
Naruto nodded to himself, but then a sense of unease washed over him. There was something that didn't add up.
Although he couldn't recall all the details of the events from his previous life, there was a discrepancy.
