Kapitel 48: Formation of Team 7
Naruto, wearing a smile, and Sasuke, with a calm expression on his face, stood there. Sakura, who had just woken up and was still looking confused, stared at Kakashi, Sasuke, and Naruto.
"Well, it was a perfect tactic. I was indeed deceived by both of you. You have accomplished the mission's objective. However, as I mentioned before, grabbing the bells only represents your eligibility. There are only two bells, and there are only two slots. Did you choose to make yourself and Sasuke eligible directly?" Kakashi stared directly at Naruto and said these words plainly.
Sasuke's expression became somewhat subtle on the side.
And not far away, Sakura, who had just woken up from her daze, immediately regained her composure after Kakashi's words.
Huh? What's going on? Naruto and Sasuke got the bells?
Then now, who gets to be qualified?
She was a bit confused but quickly organized her thoughts after Kakashi's words.
Standing up from the ground, Sakura looked at the bells in Naruto's hands. At first, she was a bit bewildered, but after a moment, she realized the situation. If Naruto and Sasuke got the bells, it meant they could graduate. She, on the other hand, had done practically nothing.
Listening to Kakashi's words, Sakura believed that she would have to go back to school for retaking the exam.
Although, for a brief moment, Sakura had the urge to speak out.
She wanted to graduate! She wanted to stay! She wanted to be on the same team as Sasuke!
But then, she restrained herself. She knew she lacked the qualifications and courage to speak up. Sakura was well aware of the fact that the bells were obtained through Naruto and Sasuke's teamwork, not because of her contribution.
Sakura silently thought to herself.
Even though it hurt, she accepted this reality.
Sakura thought so.
On the other hand, Sasuke believed that Naruto's choice was the right one. The team had just been formed, and Sasuke didn't have any special feelings for Sakura. In fact, he found her rather annoying (she lacked strength and was infatuated with him).
Kakashi, on the other hand, thought that Naruto might have another surprise in store.
But it might require more consideration.
However, the next moment, Naruto's actions surprised everyone present, especially Kakashi.
Without any hesitation or indecision, just seconds after Kakashi's words, Naruto smiled faintly. He then forcefully pulled apart the two bells he had just grabbed and threw them in opposite directions, towards Sakura and Sasuke, who were still stunned.
"In that case, I'll just choose to give the bells to Sasuke and Sakura."
Naruto said, looking directly at Kakashi with a confident smile.
"Wait, Naruto, why are you giving me the bells? You should give them to you and Sasuke. Just as Kakashi-sensei said, I didn't do anything. The bells were obtained by you and Sasuke together, so both of you should be qualified!" Sakura responded before Kakashi could say anything.
Kakashi had yet to speak.
Sasuke, on the other hand, had a moment of confusion, but then something seemed to click in his mind, and he relaxed. His gaze towards Naruto was filled with a complex mix of emotions.
"Why would you give the bells to Sasuke and Sakura? Wouldn't that mean all of us graduate together?" Kakashi asked with a hint of amusement, his hands folded across his chest, looking at Naruto intently.
"Eh? Graduate together?"
Sakura, who had been frozen in place, seemed as if she didn't quite comprehend what was happening.
Sasuke's brows furrowed slightly, but then he seemed to have a realization. His previously tense expression eased, though a complex sentiment lingered in his gaze when he looked at Naruto.
"Oh? Why are you giving the bells to me and Sakura? According to Kakashi-sensei, it's essential that we work as a team in this survival exercise. Whether it's the bell-grabbing battle before or the bell-sharing now, Kakashi-sensei wants to test whether we three can become a real team. If we don't meet this requirement, even if we get the bells, we won't pass. And since Sakura decided to return the bell to me, it proves her teamwork. So, all three of us are qualified, right, Kakashi-sensei?"
Naruto tilted his head slightly and spoke confidently.
Wisdom, boldness, calmness, and the ability to make decisions when necessary—Naruto demonstrated qualities that far exceeded Kakashi's previous expectations.
Looking at Naruto in front of him, Kakashi couldn't help but think of his former mentor, the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, Naruto's father.
"Teacher, your kid has really grown up."
Kakashi looked at Naruto, and for a moment, his eyes revealed a mixture of satisfaction, nostalgia, and reminiscence. But it was just for a moment, and he quickly concealed it, turning his attention to the expressions of the three individuals in front of him.
Finally, Kakashi put an end to the suspense and nodded lightly.
"Yes, all three of you have passed!"
This calm and firm statement resounded.
Naruto and Sasuke showed no change in their expressions.
Sakura, not far away, was momentarily stunned and then revealed an expression of disbelief, followed by overwhelming joy and happiness.
Passed!
She had finally passed!
No need to go back to the ninja academy! She could continue to be on the same team as Sasuke!
In this moment, Sakura couldn't, or perhaps didn't want to suppress her emotions.
And with Kakashi's decisive statement, the graduates of this year, and Team 7, were officially formed!
