In the court of law, Lyson had a motive for killing Jimmy and that's all that matters. But what people fail to realize is that Tyler was a factor that gives various narratives to these incidents.
Leo strongly believed Tyler had a motive to kill Jimmy too. Even if Tyler has no reason to kill Jimmy, he had a reason to drug them. It all boils down to if he can make these speculations a reality.
Leo's evidence revolved around the piece of information concerning Tyler trying to talk about work even though he and Jimmy are in rival companies. He suspected that Tyler had drugged them for this primary reason and things just went wrong from there. With no other way out, he chose to blame Lyson.
"Taking down two friends with one event. Not bad. If he had let Jimmy go that way, chances are that Jimmy would have realized he was drugged." Leo muttered under his breath.
He couldn't help but applaud this demonic genius for pulling off this stunt. Whether it was intentional or not, it did not change the fact that Tyler did something diabolical.
To get the answers needed to progress, Leo realized that he needed to change his thinking pattern. If he wished to get to the bottom of this case, he needed to stop looking for who killed Jimmy and dig more on the happenings of that day.
What went wrong with him?
Leo strongly believed that Jimmy's behavior was too suspicious to completely rule it out. To do this, he realized that he needed to return to the bar as soon as possible.
After pondering for a short while, Leo decided it was best to go back tonight. If he was to go back any other time, there was a very high possibility that they would suspect he was an investigator, after all, the incident happened just a few days ago.
Apart from that, Leo also had to blend in to the environment.
"For the sake of the mission, I should go with someone as well. Make it authentic." Leo added with a cunning smile as his eyes flashed across the café.
Lyson had gone, leaving him behind to think of a way to deal with this mess. Leo couldn't help but admit that this case was a bit tricky for him, even though he had the system on his side. The problem was that he didn't know what to look for, he only knew where to look.
Yes, Jimmy was drugged but what evidence does he have to back this up?
Huff.
Leo exhaled and leaned back with an exhausted look on his face. He quickly pulled out his phone and gazed at his contacts. Leo needed someone to go to the club with him, and he had a limited number of people to choose from, preferably a woman.
Leo wasn't interested in Maria anymore, so she wasn't even on the list. He wasn't even sure he still had her contact details. He would have preferred to take Emily or Sarah with him, but the two were busy with different cases. They had a wild night a week ago, now everyone had to focus on work.
This left Leo with Rachel, but the problem was that the girl wasn't the kind of person who does well in these places.
'However, that's not bad at all.' Leo thought.
She will definitely make him stand out while blending in properly at the same time. This was called hiding in plain sight.
To those watching on the outside, they would see a devilishly handsome man walking in with a young and inexperienced lady to the bar in a bid to exploit her.
Very normal!
Leo revealed a cunning smile as he dialed her number.
Buzzz!
"Hey! Leo, you finally called." Rachel's excited voice rang in his ears just as soon as they got connected.
Leo smiled at this and nodded with a proud look on his face. He must have done a good job for a lady to wait for him for this long and still sound excited after waiting for so long.
"Hey, how are you?" Leo said in a low and soothing tone, making Rachel blush sheepishly over the line.
Her uncontrollable giggles have her off, leaving Leo with a smile on his face.
Innocent girls were really the best when they are completely into you.
"I'm great. I have been busy with schoolwork and all that. But that's not important right now. So tell me, how did the case go?" Rachel asked with an excited voice which made Leo raised an eyebrow.
To think she would still remember his case with the CEO of Lance Inc. even when she talks about it only once. Women can be terrifying when they care.
"I obviously won. I can never lose." Leo said with a proud smile on his face.
"Of course you won, I don't expect anything less." Rachel sounded even prouder of him.
There was a brief silence before the two began laughing beautifully. The scene of Leo on the phone would make one think he was on a call with his partner. Unfortunately, the effects of Empathy were far beyond what anyone can expect.
To be able to flow with anyone in a conversation and have a deep and personal connection with them was greatly underrated.
"Hey, I'm going to the club tonight, care to tag along?" Leo asked in a low but firm tone.
"A club... I..." Rachel seemed to hesitate and Leo understood why.
She barely survived the bar, and he was trying to ship her off to something even bigger.
"Don't worry, I will be by your side all through it." Leo added calmly and the hesitation vanished.
Yes, it's not her thing, but she finally had a chance to spend some time with the man of her dreams, why would she hesitate?
At this moment, Rachel felt stupid for hesitating. Even if Leo was going to the underworld she doesn't mind following him there. For some reason, if he says it's okay, she was deeply moved to believe it will be okay.
"Okay!" Rachel exclaimed childishly.
"Good. I will pick you up by 10. Wear something tight." Leo said while biting the bottom of his lips while his thoughts wandered far and wide.
"Okay. Don't be late! So... I have to get things done so that I can make it on time. Bye!" Rachel said.
"Bye." Leo responded calmly before cutting the call.
He promptly rose to his feet and left the café. He too needed to sort out a few things before then. If he planned to win this case, he knew it was necessary to do his best.
Even though there was a lot on the line in this case, but it didn't make Leo anxious, instead he felt excited.
In the past, he was afraid of challenges in life because he lacked what he needed to fight back but now, Leo was scared of nothing. Even if the world came crashing down on him, he would advance forward with a confident smile on his face.
