He nodded along with himself, speaking as if the subject matter was far more frivolous than that of his own potential death.

"When fae are 'killed', they disappear entirely. We have no soul to carry us on in another form. The 'life' fae possess is just the manifestation of our energy in a physical form, a mere reflection of our essence."

He gestured grandly with his arms spread wide before placing both hands on his hips confidently.

Why he seemed so...proud and eager to explain something that she'd have thought fae would consider a weakness or vulnerability, she didn't know. But then, she rarely saw him act in any other way than this.

He beamed down at her as he continued his explanation of the fae life cycle.
