Kapitel 2: Chapter 2

Teresa was startled by Kenzo's sudden outburst. He stared intensely at her without saying a word, then walked away, leaving her behind.

Everyone in the library turned to look at Teresa. She stood there, frozen, with a shocked expression on her face.

"Teresa!" Yova ran over to her friend, who was still standing there in a daze.

"Are you okay?" Yova asked, placing a hand on Teresa's shoulder.

"Huh?" Teresa shook her head, snapping out of it.

Yova then guided her out of the library.

**

The school bell rang, signaling the end of the day. Students poured out of their classrooms, including Teresa. She was still packing her books and stationery into her bag, all the while keeping an eye on Kenzo. He walked out with his bag slung over his left shoulder, his right hand tucked into his pocket, just like the first time Teresa saw him.

"His magnetism is really strong," Teresa murmured as she watched Kenzo leave.

"How are you getting home?" Yova asked Teresa.

"By angkot," Teresa replied before quickly heading out and waving at Yova.

"Angkot?" Yova looked puzzled when Teresa mentioned it.

Teresa ran out of the school building, searching for Kenzo. Her eyes scanned everyone she saw, but unfortunately, Kenzo had already disappeared. She couldn't find him anywhere.

"Ugh," Teresa muttered as she looked around again, but that handsome face was already gone.

"What are you doing?" Reno suddenly asked, standing beside Teresa.

"Nothing," Teresa replied, then started walking toward the school gate.

Teresa's bag was pulled back as a car passed by. "Be careful."

She turned around to find that Reno had pulled her bag. Teresa watched as cars drove out of the school and was a bit surprised to see that the students at the school were the ones riding in them.

"What the..." she muttered, pointing at one of the cars, which had no roof.

"What's up?" Reno asked.

"Nothing," Teresa said, scratching her head. She realized that her reaction might have seemed a bit naive, and she had forgotten that this was an elite school where all the students were the children of the super-rich.

"How do you get home?" Teresa asked Reno.

"Huh, me?" Reno replied.

"Maybe I'll take an angkot in front," he answered.

"You take an angkot?" Teresa asked in disbelief, looking at Reno's appearance, which made him seem wealthy.

"Why does that surprise you?" Reno leaned in closer to Teresa's face as he asked.

Teresa shook her head and started walking away from Reno. But Reno just walked alongside her.

"Wow, that car is so cool!" Teresa exclaimed as a fancy sports car drove by. She was even more stunned when she saw who was in the car.

"Kenzo," she said, her mouth agape, eyes wide open. "He's perfect," she thought to herself as she looked at Kenzo. He wasn't just handsome and smart; he was also rich.

"Hey," Kenzo waved his hand in front of her face. "A fly might get into your mouth."

Teresa walked to the bus stop in front of the school, waiting for an angkot to arrive. She looked at Reno, who was sitting beside her, analyzing his appearance.

Then Reno stood up and got into an angkot that had stopped in front of the bus stop.

"Hey!" Teresa hadn't finished her analysis, but Reno was already leaving.

Not long after, the angkot heading to her home arrived, and she got in, along with a few other passengers.

"Young lady, do you go to that school? Why are you taking an angkot? Isn't that a school for rich kids?" an older woman in the angkot asked.

Teresa could only respond with a smile. The passengers seemed puzzled that someone attending an elite school was taking an angkot.

The angkot stopped in front of a gated residential complex. Teresa paid the fare, then got out and walked into the complex. She headed toward one of the large houses there.

"Just got back, miss?" the security guard at the house asked.

"Yes, sir," Teresa replied as she entered the house and made her way to the backyard.

In the backyard of the large house, there was a small building, only one room big. Teresa lived in that small house, which was designated for the staff working there. She opened the door and walked inside.

"Teresa, change your clothes quickly and help me," her mother called out, seeing Teresa had returned from school.

Teresa changed into a casual t-shirt and long sweatpants, tied her hair up, and walked over to the main house.

"Can you help set the table?" her mother asked.

Teresa's mother worked as a housemaid for the owners of the large house, who were a well-known wealthy family, owners of a luxury jewelry company.

That day, there was going to be a dinner party at the house. Teresa arranged all the dishes and set the dining table as beautifully as possible.

"It looks beautiful," their employer said as she walked out of her room. She praised Teresa's work.

"Oh, today was your first day at the new school, wasn't it? How did it go?" her employer asked.

Teresa smiled and said that everything went smoothly.

"You have to study hard so that the scholarship I'm giving you isn't wasted."

"Yes, ma'am," Teresa replied with a modest smile, then headed to the kitchen to continue her work.

...

"Mom, I'm going out for a bit," Teresa said, asking permission to leave and buy some school supplies that night. She grabbed a small bag hanging behind the door and walked out of the large house.

The streets in the complex were very quiet. Teresa walked alone along the streets, accompanied by the neatly arranged streetlights that illuminated the dark night. She greeted the security guards stationed at the complex gate cheerfully.

"Good evening, gentlemen. I hope you stay strong through the night," Teresa said in a childlike tone to the guards at the gate.

"Thank you, Miss Teresa. By the way, where are you heading out so late?" one of them asked. "Going on a date?"

"Just some young people's business," Teresa replied.

Teresa had become quite close to them since she moved to the complex.

She walked to a stationery store not far from the gate. The store was across the street.

Teresa's eyes were busy scanning the cute pens in the store. She compared them one by one.

"This one's cute, but it's a bit expensive," she said, even though the price difference was small. "But this one's cute too," she hesitated, unsure which one to buy.

A large hand reached for a pen beside Teresa. She immediately turned to see who had taken the pen.

"Kenzo," her eyes widened as she saw that it was Kenzo who had taken the pen. She rubbed her eyes to make sure she wasn't imagining it.

"It's really him," she muttered.

After picking up the pen, Kenzo headed straight to the cashier.

"Kenzo," Teresa called out to him.

Teresa paid for her items and then left the store. As she walked out, she saw Kenzo heading into the same residential complex where she lived.

"Hey, miss, you're back already?" the security guard asked, seeing Teresa return.

Teresa didn't answer and quickly ran after Kenzo, stopping him while panting.

"Stop!" Teresa shouted, making the guy halt.

After catching her breath, Teresa stood up straight and asked Kenzo, "Do you live here too?"

Kenzo rolled his eyes as if annoyed that Teresa had stopped him. He walked past her without answering.

Teresa followed behind him, trying to start a conversation with him.

Kenzo suddenly stopped walking. Teresa had to brake suddenly and almost bumped into him.

"Whew, close one," she muttered.

"Can you stop?" Kenzo finally spoke. "I'm not interested in you. Stop following me," he said without turning around, then continued walking.

Teresa watched him walk away. "I can't, because I like you," she said as he got further away.

Teresa didn't give up. She followed Kenzo from a distance, wanting to know where he lived. She sneaked around and hid whenever she thought Kenzo might notice her.

She held up a leaf to cover her eyes. "So that's his house," she whispered.

Teresa saw Kenzo heading toward one of the houses in the complex.

"Ouch!" she cried out in pain as she felt a sharp sting in her hand. She quickly dropped the leaf she was holding because it was swarming with ants.

Kenzo turned around at the sound.

Teresa immediately ran to a nearby bush and hid, trying to endure the stinging pain in her hand from the ant bites.

She peeked out and saw that Kenzo had already disappeared.

"Well, he's already inside," Teresa muttered, then walked back toward her own home. At least now she knew where Kenzo lived.

"It hurts, but it's okay," she said, smiling to herself.

...

...

...

...

"Teresa," a voice called out, stopping her in her tracks.
