Extended Prologue | Part 2

"Sensei, but… even the Shiketsu High application was rejected." He said.

Now even Ken-sensei made a face, so he didn't know. "But why? Your performance in the demo-test was exceptional…"

"That's why I came to talk to Kudo-sensei, he's the principal. He should know what went wrong right?"

The blond teacher frowned. "But the principal left a while ago." He said. "It was weird why he left that early…" he muttered the last part mostly to himself.

"But the UA entrance exam is tomorrow!"

The teacher sighed, "Look Kid, I don't think even the principal can do anything about the UA situation. But the Shiketsu High exam is in like in a week or so. Maybe you can sort that out." He said. "I am pretty sure they have some system problem. You got recommended, they don't just reject applications like that."

Toya didn't say anything, he nodded before turning to leave. This day was getting worse by the minute. But maybe his PE teacher was right, maybe it was a system problem.

But still, he was skeptical about the UA application thing. You get notified early if your application is rejected or not. Not the day prior to the exam. Something was wrong.

Was following your dream that hard. Maybe he wasn't meant to be a hero. A picture of a man that he particularly didn't like came to his mind. The scoffing expression on the man's face was the last thing that he wanted to remember.

"…toya….Toya" a voice called him from behind. He looked back, he was already in the shopping area, the station wasn't that far, time was passing incredibly fast today.

A girl ran to her before stopping huffing for air and Toya recognized her. She was one of them, this wasn't the time to reject a proposal. "I am sorry, Miku but…"

"I know why your UA application got rejected."

Toya's eyes hardened. And only then did he remember, that Miku's last name was the same as the principal's, was she his daughter or something. Maybe. Before now he didn't have to look into it, which he was regretting right now.

And then she explained.

.

The train was jammed with people that were returning from their everyday work. People rushing in and out from the door, smiling faces, small talks. It was a Saturday night. Maybe that was the reason people were in a cheery mood.

Except for Toya, he was more than in a bad mood as he sat on one of the train seats, heading for home.

The dark hoodie covering his snow-white hair and his face did get a lot of attention from people. But they quickly ignored him, when they looked into his almost dead turquoise eyes.

Those eyes gave off a chilling aura. As if something bad would happen if you look at them too long.

Toya's hands gave off smoke, which he quickly waved away. But still some standing passengers saw it, and a few of them took a step back.

People generally don't want to be near a fire quirk user. It was flashy in every sense in the book. But people still feared fire users like a plague, and it didn't help that the most popular fire user in japan —which also happened to be his so-called father— had an anger problem.

Which the media tended to point out now and then, which was funny as how much money he fead them.

Speaking of that man, Toya wanted to rip his face off right now. That man was a monster and that was quite a bit of hate coming from a sixteen-year-old. But he had his reasons.

And after what he did. He wanted to kill that man and be done with it. Toya had far quit trying to please that man.

'Why did it have to be me?' he asked himself, releasing a sigh. His hands hurt bad, he accidentally activated his quirk, didn't he?

"So much for my dream of being a hero…" he mumbled to himself. Brushing at the scars that were on his hands. All of them were burnt marks.

The bone-breaking training and the skin-burning pain. All of it he endured just because of his dream. Dream of being the number one hero.

But it wasn't Toay's dream though. He just wanted to save people. Maybe put a smile on their faces. It sounded cheesy as All-Might. But he truly did. Some people just wanted it simple.

But now… he didn't know where to go or what to do. Even ending his life seemed more pleasing to him.

Toya leaned back on his seat, covering his eyes with his forearm.

He would have never guessed that his so called father would stop so low. Canceling your own son's admission. But even going as far to cancel out other Hero Courses.
