Rune and the rest of the group did not see Carin for the rest of the day. Both she and Mako were escorted away to a medical facility to be treated for damaged muscles and tendons, and a fractured skull, respectively.
Rune had no interest in watching the last few matches but figured Carin would have preferred them to stay and watch regardless. It was probably meant to be some kind of learning experience for them.
Still, can I really learn anything from watching this..?
The kinds of foes he would be up against in the future were likely way above this level. Sure, the teachers were holding back, but they could never compare to the hidden powers lurking out in the world.
No... That line of thinking is wrong. Even if I do end up fighting people like that, my goal is still to become a successful adventurer and make lots of money to live a comfortable life. I'll need to learn how to effectively handle more normal situations as well.
This one ended up being longer than I thought it would. It might be a little boring, seeing as it is mostly dialogue and exposition, but it is completely necessary to set things up for the next chapter.
