Kapitel 14: Living Room Night
Characters: Ruth and Antoinette
Ruth and Antoinette have a chat in the living room.
Ruth: My dear so do you intend moving on?
Antoinette: How do you mean? Let me get you clear.
Ruth: Do you have any intention moving on with another man? You see you are not getting any younger. You need a real man in your life. A supportive one I mean.
Antoinette: What!!! (She exclaims angrily) Please I don't want to talk about my past anymore. (She becomes sober)
Ruth: I'm sorry if I offended you in any way. (She apologises to her friend)
Antoinette: It's alright. You don't have to be sorry about that. (They all smiles)
Ruth: So what work do you intend doing for now?
Antoinette: My sister any work available is okay by me. If I'm even offered the work as a house help here I'll be very thankful.
Ruth: Ooooh what do you mean? Don't let me feel disappointed. House help for who? (She asks with surprise) Please be serious with yourself. What exactly do you want to do?
Antoinette: Okay my sister. Any work available that I can lay my hands on is fine by me.
Ruth: Well what if I discuss with my husband on your behalf to help get a job for you at his office. How about that? (She passionately smiles)
Antoinette: What!!!! (She surprisingly screams) You don't mean it.
Ruth: I'm very serious my dear.
Antoinette: Thank you my dear. (She holds Ruth's hands)
Ruth: What are friends for? I should be able to offer you some help when you need my help and that is what friendship is all about.
Antoinette: Wow in fact you are one in a million. You accommodated me in your house and now you want to help me again to secure a job at your husband's office. I'm so grateful. My God will bless you abundantly.
Ruth: Amen.... It's alright it's getting late let's get inside. Go to bed see you tomorrow.
Antoinette: Okay good night bye....
