Kapitel 49: Inside the mansion

Detective Locksley was a simple, but honest man who always carried out his duties as diligently as possible. However, he wasn't one of those overzealous ones who'd go out of their way to earn a promotion.

"Are you sure it's safe to enter the mansion?" the detective asked, gulping an airy lump in his throat. His heart was racing inside his chest, and his mouth felt dry as a desert.

"Just stay behind me, and don't hesitate to pull the trigger if you spot any of those cultist freaks," Xander advised before marching down the cobbled path cutting through the lawn.

Detective Locksley joined him at the front door of the mansion with his pistol clutched tightly in his hand. "I'm not worried about your cultists. I just don't want to run into any of those nightmare freaks in there."

"Ethereals," Xander corrected him. "If there were Ethereals inside the mansion we would've known by now."
