Ginevra stopped in her tracks, ankle-deep in snow, and put her hands on her hips.
"Enough. We are far enough from the storm—there's no point in pressing on further. We better wait until Niko locates us and catches up. And," she pointed towards an icy outcrop in front of them, "this will make a decent shelter to wait in."
Luna stopped walking as well and frowned. "But we can't just leave jarl out there! Even if he's a powerful mage… It's my duty to protect him." She turned back towards the mana storm that separated their group. "If we moved over the edge of the affected area, we could catch up to them."
Ginevra glanced at her fingers, terribly bare save for leather gloves. Cael, and the rest of her team, were out of reach.
She had to remove her wedding band, as much as her heart protested the act, because she feared that the jewels in it would explode. Cael really made her sentimental…

My favorite kind of humor. After memes. Well... just short jokes are good, but when the situation itself is humorous and ironic this way it's just... leaves a longer impression, I think? Like melasses of humor. Sweet and stretchy.
