He had been terribly heartbroken since then and hadn't laid his eyes on any other woman. Now that he thought about it, probably every single member of his family had experienced a romantic calamity before. His father's was the terrible case of his wife leaving him for his brother.
His brother's was the worst. He had to be brutally plotted against two whole times. It was not sure who Lu Shaoting's dear brother had offended in his previous life to deserve such an experience. Well, at least one of them was slowly turning into a romantic fortune instead…
"How exactly did you do it?" He asked again.
"Do you think I even need to seduce her?" Lu Aotian's teasing voice rang out. "This little thing was head over heels for me all along."
Wan Jia glared at him impatiently. What happened to their date? Seeing that the wife couldn't wait to be alone with him, he quickly bade goodbye to his brother and daughter. The little girl didn't look bothered about her father leaving. In fact, she looked like he was wasting too much time: he should leave faster and let her be with her second uncle.
"Where are we going?" she asked when they finally left Southside Villa.
"It's a surprise." He smiled as he drove them to one of his property in the north side of the city.
North side Villa.
"Seriously Aotian, you don't intend to have an Eastside Villa And a Westside Villa too, do you?" Wan Jia asked when she realized where they were. This was one of Lu Aotian's properties that she hadn't been to before.
"Nope, just North side and Southside…and what did you just call me?" he looked at her sharply.
"My love."
"Good." He lifted her and carried her to the door. She hadn't noticed it a while ago but there were tiny heart shaped blue crystal lamps in two rows from the entrance trailing all the way into the villa, onto the stairs and who knows where they led to. In the somewhat dimly lit villa, the blue rays of light fell onto her face and body, making her look even more dazzling.
Lu Aotian led her to the dining table where a candlelit dinner was already waiting. He had really put in his all. Why did this look like a set up for a proposal?
In the dimly lit dining room, the couple quietly had their dinner, stealing a few nervous glances at one another. Lu Aotian was nervous because he was afraid he might wake up and find that all this was a dream. Wan Jia was nervous because all this preparation seemed like what a man would do before proposing to his beloved. Although she was sure that she wanted to be with him, she still wasn't sure that she wouldn't ever regret marrying him.
It wasn't that she was in doubt about wanting to spend the rest of her life with him; she was only worried about his and Little Jia's safety, and the possible repercussions of marrying him.
"Don't drink too much." He warned. That was her third glass of wine and she didn't seem to have any intention of stopping.
"So what if I drink too much? I have you with me; you'll be responsible for taking me home."
"Indeed." He chuckled. Then he looked into her eyes seriously. "Wanwan,"
Those beautiful eyes gazing deeply into hers and that deep voice seemed to send ripples straight into her heart. "Mmh?" Is he going to propose? No, please no….
He unceremoniously took her hand. "You are not allowed to leave me."
"Huh?" where was the going down one knee and whipping out a ring from nowhere to propose? She was happy yet disappointed.
"Since you decided to be with me, you are not allowed to leave me ever." He declared in the most tyrannical and overbearing voice she had ever heard from him. "Understood?
"What would you do if I left?" she asked in a teasing tone as she leaned back and twirled the red contents of her wineglass slowly.
"I'll tear down the earth to find you if I have to." There was no trace of joke in his eyes, as if he would really do it.
"You don't have to, I won't ever leave." She held his hand.
He squeezed her little hand habitually and held her chin with his free hand, making their gazes collide. "Promise me."
"I promise."
He looked at her for a while as if gauging from her eyes if she was really telling the truth. Satisfied with her clear and honest gaze, he pulled her fair hand a little. "Then when will we get married?"
"Cough, cough, what?" She definitely did not really see that coming. Does such a question pop up out of nowhere?
"We're dating. Shouldn't the next step naturally be marriage?" In reality, he was just afraid she might change her mind later and wanted to lock her down with marriage before that happened. He noticed her dazed expression. "Oh, forgive my manners. I forgot to propose. Will you marry me?"
Wan Jia frowned. Dunce, that's not how you propose! By asking me when we will get married, haven't you already given yourself a yes? What's the use of asking me a question you already answered? Also, your gaze was slightly diverted into space just now when you asked the big question. Besides, you already made me promise never to leave. Who on earth is your romance teacher? Most importantly, she looked around. Where is the ring?
lol just repeating what I said earlier.
