I ignore Ryder for the entire ride to the hotel. After our conversation, he should’ve just taken me home right then and there, not wasting any time here in Naples!
I have completely fallen in love with my would-be assassin, and he is ready to dump me back into my old life, which will never be the same again!
“Why are you ignoring me?” Ryder asks, placing a gentle hand on mine.
I adjust my sunglasses, continuing to look out of the window.
“Are you mad at me? Did I do something wrong?”
I scoff! As if Ryder didn’t know! Just like a man not knowing what he said or did to offend a woman.
I look over at him, shrugging my shoulders. “No, I’m fine.”
Turning my head the other way, I look out the window. I shut my eyes, feeling his gaze on me and not giving a damn! I am so angry at him!
I try to copy his inhumane calm look but fail miserably. I roll my eyes. I’m glad he can’t see my facial expression.
It would’ve been a dead giveaway that I was hurt and upset.
